Has deer ever lit up? When you unboxed it, plugged it in, 1st turned it on? When you 1st set the timer?
If yes, you may need to RESET timer. Unplug it, then at dusk turn it on and press til button turns green. Deer will light up and stay on 8hrs, then it will come on again automatically the same time each day, if you leave it plugged in.
If no, check cable from plug all the way to deer for any damage. Is it properly connected to deer and plug?
Turn on and off to check it lights up. Set timer.

Yes, there is a button on the transformer, please press and hold it for a few seconds until it lights up in green, then timer function is on for 8 hours. It will switch back on automatically after 16hrs.

If the wattage of the product is 1kw. It will take 1kw per hour (kw/h). Changes will depend from supplier to supplier. For instance of your electrical cost was 20p per kw/h, it will cost 20 p per hour on maximum power to run. Having checked I can see this takes 0.01Kw per hour to run.

This has a TRANSFORMER-PLUG and NEEDS to be plugged in INDOORS, to be protected from the elements.
Do you mean you have an IP66 rated, weatherproof, outdoor plug socket, with a protective, hinged, sealed, grey plastic casing, that allows safe connection of appliances in gardens and outside areas?
You are UNLIKELY to be able to close the protective, hinged cover when plugged in, because transformer-plugs are too bulky, making it UNSAFE to plug in outside! So this is something to check.

They do not recommend plugging it to an exterior socket, saying also that: "As this wire is 5m already, it should be enough."
