Not flexible - don't bother
Not flexible, do not bend to enter the pipe system so can't get further than the initial drain. Absolutely useless waste of money

Might not be flexible enough for some tasks.
I bought this drain rod set a few weeks ago, because our kitchen sink drain outlet seems to get blocked quite frequently. However, the 'U' bend may be too acute to accept a proper rodding. So may need to call in a drain specialist again. But I'm sure the set would be adequate for other drain-clearing duties.

Although some of the answers to the question do these bend said No, they do. Which i was pleased about. Although like other reviews they are a little flimsy and they did come apart while I was using. Although for the price not too bad

Useful but not really effective enough
Useful tool, but not flexible enough and the rubber drain piece is so stiff it's almost useless. Doesn't attach to the rod well enough and popped off and got stuck in the drain!. More like chimney brush rods than drain rods.

Tried to use this on a U bend, waste of time. It’s so rigid. The pipes do bend slightly but stay in shape. It needs to be a lot more flexible

Blocked drain

Great to have on the and for emergencies.
Bought these after an emergency just before Christmas. Thought we'd sorted it but it turned out we hadn't done a proper job, so we were really pleased to have these to hand and clear it thoroughly. They work fine and are good value for money. Everyone should have a set for emergencies. Not 5 stars because they are a little flimsy and the bag fell apart, but they did to job.

They WOULD be suitable IF the toilet is blocked because the underground waste pipes OUTSIDE the house are blocked! This type of blockage would affect ALL water draining from your home, ie kitchen sink, dishwasher, washing machine, bathroom sink, shower and bath. You are likely to find water or sewage leaking from a manhole cover or drain near the manhole cover if you run kitchen tap. Or if you lift any manhole covers ON the property and you see it blocked or filled with waste water and sewage.

These WORKPRO 12 Piece Drain Rod Set are for use in pipes outside your house. It shouldn't be used for blockages inside the house (eg blocked sinks or toilets). You would need a domestic plunger.
