Great solar floodlight
Bought this to light a set of garden steps that my wife struggles to negotiate safely after dark. Had to be mounted on my summerhouse and as I'm not wired up out there, had to go for solar. Now I'm a sceptic when it comes to solar power, as the weather is often so dire in the winter, nothing seems to work. Well to my surprise and delight, this flood works really well using normal daylight. I would say the light is as strong as a 20w mains powered flood, it's really that good. I found the mounting bracket a bit lacking but a couple of decent sized self tappers from my own toolbox sorted it out. One excellent addition is a lengthy extension cable which means if you really do have to mount the light in a dark and gloomy spot, you can run out the cable and connect the solar panel in direct sunlight. And finally, as for most floodlights, the adjustment lugs to alter the time, lux and sensitivity of the PIR, are a tad fiddly but with a bit of patience you can get it right. So all in all a great solar which I can happily recommend.

Better than expected
Works better than expected. Although only the 8w version, it is very noticeable bright and intruders won't miss it. Although instructions say the internal battery will charge in 8 - 10 hours, it will take 2/3 due to dull British weather. But once fully charged it works brilliantly. Although not clear in the introductions, when the light and solar panels are mounted together, you can orientate them independently. This is due to the ball joints.

Good when it works
The 8W model casts a bright light but does not hold its charge very well (even after a full day's charge in sunlight). It's only gives optimum performance for about 2 hours. Exchanged with another unit... hopefully this one will be better.

Excellent brightness!
This light is so much better than I had expected. Especially as the brightness levels and sensitivity can be adjusted. I feel so much safer now when my daughters come home when iit is dark.itbisbt thw prettiest design, but for the price it is an excellent purchase.

Still advertising the wrong product ..!!
Argos are still advertising the light as the 11 watt version of this product but issuing the 8 watt version. It's still a cracking light at a brilliant price (best I could find by far on the net). Possibly the lights best feature is it's ability to be split in half so the solar panel can be placed in the best place to get the most sunshine and the light where it's needed. BUT - get your product advertising sorted out Argos or you're going to get a lot of unnecessary returns ..!!

Argos supplied wrong product
This review is more of the service than the product. I received the 8W version despite ordering this 11W light. A mate has the 11W version which is excellent & very bright so very disappointed to receive inferior light. Returned & refunded but no 11W available…seems I’m not the first this has happened to, so buyer beware you probably won’t receive the listed 11W light advertised here!

Excellent product
This light was easy to fit and works very well. The ability to place the solar panel separate from the light itself is very useful. I would have given it 5 stars were ir not for the fact that despite being shown online to be the 11W item the light was actually a mislabelled 8W type and no other 11W ones were available

Good Floodlight
The cable length is ideal as the charger can be out in the sunshine with lamp where you need it. In a shed, say.

Hello rxf,
The supplier has advised the following for the Luceco 8W PIR Guardian Solar Floodlight:
“ Yes the floodlight can be activated during daylight. On the reverse of the light are adjustment dials which can be changed to alter the operating parameters of the light; sensitivity, time and Lux.
Increase the lux if in a bright area, and decrease if in shaded/dark. ”
Thanks for using Q & A.

Hi There
Luceco 11W PIR Guardian Solar Floodlights
Having checked I can see this is solar powered and can not be used without the rechargeable battery that comes with the unit. This is not replaceable.
Thanks for using Q&A.
