Simple and works
I bought this last month to replace one I'd broken. It was well priced, easy pick up from local Sainsbury's store and felt well made enough to last.

Great for everyday use! I recommend ;)
I had a previous one from Argos that the glass unfortunately broke after about 5 years. It was used almost daily, so. I think it's a fairly good life span. About the new one, which is almost identical but slightly better. The only complaint I had with the previous one is that If I use the lid "grade" part when pouting the coffee, sometimes it would make a mess. This one it looks slightly different and does not present that problem, which is really good! Everything works as expected and I had no problem at all using it for the past 2 weeks. One minor bad comment is that the plastic holder is slightly bulged outwards from the glass at the topmost part of it. It's a bit distorted and does not "hug" the glass neatly as the previous one did. It's only a cosmetic "problem" so I don't really mind to be honest.

Value for money
Would have been happier if it could be cleaned in a washing machine but a) I knew this before I bought it and b) much less expensive than those that are dishwasher safe.

Hi Juney,
Thanks for your query about the 8 Cup Cafetiere - Black.
Having checked, this will have clear glass. The reference to it being black is the colour of the other parts, the lid, handle and so on which are black. The image that appears to chow the whole thing as black is because it's shown with coffee in it.
The other ones we do that aren't black can be found here:

Hello Penguin,
The supplier has advised the following for the 8 Cup Cafetiere - Black:
It can be used for tea, but its purpose is not for keeping the liquid hot. You'd need to transfer it to another receptible like a flask or tea pot, with a suitable tea cosy perhaps, for that.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
I've only used it for making coffee as it's a cafetière with a plunger which is used to push down the ground coffee when the coffee is ready to be poured.
It's just glass so it doesn't keep it hot for anything longer than if it was in a standard glass or cup.
Hello Mary,
