About this product
Ecobase Fastfit Shed Base kits are designed to provide a firm long lasting base on which to install a garden building. Each kit consists of strong, recycled plastic grids that click together and a sheet of weed resistant membrane. Ecobase grids are a lot lighter and easier to handle than paving flags and less messy and much quicker than laying a wet-mix concrete slab. Rainwater drains through the grid cavities keeping the floor bearers dry and ventilated. Ecobase Fastfit Shed Base kits are suitable for most garden buildings.
Made from 100 percent UK sourced recycled plastics.
The Ecobase Fastfit grids' honey comb structure does not allow rain water to get trapped between the grids and the floor bearers of the building. This means your building will last longer as the floor timbers are kept dry and ventilated.
Supports 240 tonnes per m2. Gravel is not needed across the whole base. Optionally, gravel can be used round the perimeter to create a French drain.
None delivery to Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Orkney, Shetland and Scottish Highlands.

Easy soliid base
I bought this for a base for a Keter plastic shed and it is perfect. It went together very easily and I filled it with 10mm gravel to dissuade burrowing rodents. As it happened, there was a concrete base down for the rotten wooden shed I was replacing but this lifted the new shed base for extra moisture proofing. My wife wants a she-shed which will need a base digging out but I will definitely use these for the foundation as it's much simpler than I think a concrete base will be.

Hello there,
The supplier has advised of the following for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 10x6ft.
Yes you could use this with a shed of that size but the supplier also advises of this: "Whereas the 10x6ft base could be used, a better and less expensive choice would be the 8x8ft base. This measures 2.5 x 2.5m overall. If required, given the grids are made from plastic, the base can be trimmed to size with a wood saw."
This is the base to which they refer here: Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Kit Shed - 7x8, 8x8, and 7x7ft, cat no 220/8752.

Hello Kaly,
The supplier has advised the following for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 10x6ft:
The actual size of this Shed Base Kit once assembled is 3.5 x 2.0m.
Although slightly larger than 10 x 6ft, this allows the exposed grid cavities at the perimeter of the base to be filled with pea-gravel to reduce rainwater splashback on the lower timbers of the building. Alternatively, should your customer prefer, the grids that make up the base can be trimmed to the precise size of the building at ground level.
They are made from polypropylene and can be cut easily using a wood saw.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Kaly,
The supplier has advised the following for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 10x6ft:
An Ecobase Shed Base kit is perfect for the use your customer is planning.
Because it has a honeycomb structure made of recycled plastic, it has no flat surfaces on which rainwater can collect.
Once positioned on your customer’s existing concrete base, rainwater will drain away from the floor bearers of the shed and sit on the concrete.
This means that the floor bearers will remain dry and preserved and will last a lot longer.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Eileenmcg
This Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed would be a base for a 10ft x 6ft shed. If you bought 2 then you would have a base of 20ft x 12ft which would be more than big enough for your 7ft x 11ft shed.
I hope that helps
Thank you for using Q&A
The small print
All sheds need to be placed and secured on a base; this can be concrete, patio slabs or wood. Putting your shed directly on the ground wouldn't be safe and would decrease the lifespan of your shed.
