After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 6x4ft: Yes - Ecobase is suitable to support most sheds, be they constructed from timber, plastic or metal.
Should the manufacturer of the metal shed suggest their unit is anchored to the ground, this can be done using metal tent pegs. Push a tent peg through a hole in the bottom of the shed wall frame, and through one of the cavities of Ecobase to the earth beneath. The peg can then be hammered gently into the ground securing the building to it.

The supplier has advised the following for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 6x4ft:
"Laying Ecobase on to uneven paving slabs is not advisable as the floor of the building needs to be flat and level to ensure the windows and doors open and shut properly. It would be better if the slabs are levelled first, before Ecobase is installed. Alternatively, the slabs could be removed and Ecobase installed directly onto the ground beneath, provided it is firm flat and level."

The supplier has advised the following for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed - 6x4ft:
“ Yes indeed. Ecobase is designed to reinforce the soil so that it takes the weight of the shed. As with all shed installations, it is important that the soil is compacted and firm, flat and level before Ecobase is installed. This is to ensure that the shed floor is perfectly horizontal and the shed walls are perfectly vertical so that the doors and windows open and shut properly without sticking. ”

We found it very difficult to lay it on soil it needs a firm base otherwise the shed will move like ours did

Having checked the instructions for the Ecobase Fastfit Plastic Base Kit Shed:
Each grid is 500mm x 500mm and then gets slotted together to make the size needed. The grids wouldn't be able to be cut. The water permeable membrane, can be cut to size.

The small print
All sheds need to be placed and secured on a base; this can be concrete, patio slabs or wood. Putting your shed directly on the ground wouldn't be safe and would decrease the lifespan of your shed.
