About this product
This Abigail Metal Day Bed gives you a comfortable place to sleep at night and a cosy spot to sit during the day. It's a three-sided frame that works as a bed when you need it and doubles as a sofa when filled with cushions. That makes it ideal for smaller bedrooms, guest rooms, or turning a bedroom into a space for relaxing and hanging out. It comes with a medium-feel mattress that fits the frame well, so you're ready to use it straight away. The white finished steel frame has corner posts and clean lines that suit a wide range of bedroom styles.
The mattress features 323 springs for support and comfort, and flipping it regularly helps maintain its shape and performance. Metal slats are supplied to support the mattress evenly across the frame. The three-sided design leaves one side open, making it easy to get in and out. It supports a maximum user weight of 140kg. Self-assembly is required, and two people are recommended for setup. Comes with a two-year manufacturer's guarantee for reassurance.

Style over substance
I bought this as a spare bed and having read the reviews it looked suitable. Very easy to put together and managed to do it on my own. The slats were a little bit fiddly as other reviews suggested, but again managed to get it sorted. The main issue about the bed is that the frame creeks so badly. The creaking doesn’t come from the joints. It’s actually from the back panel which I don’t think has been welded very well and it’s so noisy that you can’t get a decent night sleep. In order to try and sort the problem out, I’ve had to use cable ties to tighten up the Horizontal bars on the back of the bed and thankfully it has stopped the noise but not ideal considering the price. I also agree with others who have said that the mattress is really poor quality but having put a mattress topper on it is a bit more comfortable. Definitely not a bed to be used on a regular basis

Very comfy day bed
I bought this several weeks ago after becoming ill and needing a comfortable bed/sofa so I could rest . It's sturdy and stylish and fits in with the other furniture and is extremely comfortable

I bought this for my grandaughter who is coming 13. Its perfect for a teenager. She loves it. Its sturdy and comfortable.

Great product, easy to assemble
Shopped around but this was the best value and included a mattress which is very comfortable. Good size and works well as bed/seating. Although it stated 3 people were needed for one step of assembly I managed easily on my own. Getting slats in most tricky part but very easy if there are 2 of you.

Looks great, but cheap mattress
Works well for what I wanted, and looks good in the room, but don't think the mattress will stand up to much wear. I wanted to use this as a sofa some of the time, and don't think the mattress will retain it's shape if it is sat on rather than used as a bed.

The bed is approximately 30cm from the floor and the mattress is 16cm in depth, which totals approx. 46 cm.

Hello Theo. The Argos Home Abigail Metal Day Bed and Mattress measures W96.2, L198, H95cm and a standard single mattress measures 90 x 190cm approximately. So an alternative mattress of this size would be ok.
