Great value for money!
I brought this on the run up to Christmas to ensure photos of my child’s first Christmas time were captured. The photos are crisp and well lit. The built in flash really comes in handy and ensures that you can really see the subject of then photo. The settings are easy to use and the helpful LCD screen will guide you through selections. There is a setting for portraits, landscape as well as motion capture. The camera can also take videos which again are crisp and bright. I have previously used a Canon EOS4000D and this camera has blown it out of the water as it is much lighter and less bulky whilst taking lovely photos. Really pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

Excellent new camera
I have used the Canon brand in the past and been very pleased with them. I bought this one because it is made in Japan (which aside from Canon seems to be rare from Japanese camera producers now) and had good reviews. So, having used it for a couple of times, I’m very happy with the quality of the camera and photos. It is also really easy to use. This is important to me because I often forget how to use the camera between use, and this makes it really easy. There is no touch screen, which pleases me – I prefer buttons. The screen is really clear, and the viewfinder excellent. The photos I’ve taken so far have really impressed me, and that has been in the challenging lighting of the far north of Britain in autumn! Thank you, Canon, I’m really looking forward to making the most of this new camera!

Brilliant pictures
I bought this camera at the end of January. I haven't had an interchangeable lens camera for many years, this one is lovely. I will be purchasing a new lens as the one that came with camera has limited zoom capabilities. I am still experimenting with different types of photography, I really like this camera, just one minor gripe, it's too easy to press buttons where your right hand holds the body, otherwise I'm really happy with the camera and my photos.

R100
I received my new R100 in January for my 50th birthday. I love the weight and size of the camera as I'm new to photography. Just got to do some saving now for a bigger lens than the standard one.

Great lightweight camera
I got this camera as the next move up from a Sony bridge camera. I now need a zoom lens to match the strength of my Sony camera as the lens it comes with is very basic. The photo and video quality is excellent. Shame it doesn't have a touch screen.

Thank you for using Q&A
Hi sabs,
Thanks for your query about the Canon EOS R100 Mirrorless Camera With RF 18-45mm IS STM Lens.
Yes, this does record video in 4K. It also has a 3.5mm stereo mini jack for connecting an external microphone, though it does also have a built in microphone too (built-in monaural microphone, 48 KHz, 16-bit x 2 channels).
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Jen
In May 2022 Canon took an unexpected step, introducing yet another lens type – this time called RF-S. These lenses are designed for the new APS-C sensor branch of the EOS R system, launched by the EOS R7 and EOS R10. However, RF-S lenses uses the exact same mount point as RF lenses, not a hybrid one like EF-S. This means that you can use RF-S lenses on full frame R-series cameras, something that isn’t physically possible with full frame DSLRs and EF-S lenses. To compensate, when an RF-S lens is attached to a full frame R-series camera, the camera automatically switches to crop mode, accommodating the smaller image circle of the RF-S lens.
Hope this helps. Thanks for using Q&A.
