Brilliant fur watching the birds in the garden!
We have just set up our C425 in the garden so we can watch the birds using our bird feeders. The resolution is great and it is doing exactly what we hoped it would do! Now I can identify the birds without straining to see them clearly through my kitchen window … I can see them from my comfy chair in the sitting room … or watch the early morning breakfasting birds without getting out of bed! 😆

Tapo are fntastic cameras for the money
I have 5 x Tapo cameras. 3 x c425, 1 x d 210 and 1 x c200 and pay annual subscription for the Tapo cloud service, which is very reasonable, being less than £90 for up to 10 cameras. Really can't fault the cameras or Tapo cloud care. Had them for 2 months now and battery life seems as good as quoted, although d210 doorbell camera is heavier on the juice, but we're still getting to know each other so this will probably change when I get totally accustomed to the settings. I purchased screw in wall mounts for the c425s in preference to using the standard magnetic mounts as I use the c425s externally, but this is down to personal choice. Overall, extremely happy. Picture quality is excellent as is the visual range.

What a fantastic piece of kit this is. Very easy to put up with just a base plate with 3 screws and a very strong magnet to hold the camera in place. The wide angle is great and with detection zones with great visibility you can create you can catch whatever you need to. Very good picture with great crisp resolution means everything is nice and clear. The weatherproofing means it’s great for our British weather with the amount of rain we get. Very easy to charge battery as you just pull it off and charge it then put it back. So pleased I bought this as it has given me piece of mind.

Bought this to keep an eye on the entrance to my elderly mother’s flat. Works brilliantly, I recommend installing an SD card to view recordings and if you are unable to plug it in anywhere the solar panel works great.

To turn off the LED light, go to the camera's live view screen in the app, access the Device Settings page, and scroll down to find the toggle switch for the Status LED.
Please note that disabling the LED may affect your ability to see the camera's operational status. You can re-enable the LED in the app. Alternatively, the LED lights will also automatically turn on after a camera reset.
*Reminder: The system LED will still blink red to remind the user something is wrong with the camera even though it has been turned off in the app.

The supplier has advised the following for the Tapo C425 2K Smart Battery Wi-Fi Outdoor Security Camera:
"The Tapo C425 features a 10000 mAh Built-in Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery. This means the battery is built into the camera and cannot be removed or swapped out.
You need to remove the entire camera and charge it using the included USB adapter cable
So unfortunately, you cannot swap batteries like ordinary rechargeable batteries. The entire camera unit needs to be charged
In addition to charging using a power adapter, you can use an optional solar panel (Tapo A200/A201/A202) for continuous charging without removing the camera.
The solar panel option allows you to keep the camera mounted and operational while it charges continuously."
