I’m happy with this camera, it’s set up in my kitchen. Overall the night vision is very good. The detection is quite good, only issue is when the wind blows my rose bush it detects it as a person 🤷♂️.

I have already got other tapo cameras, all are good, reasonable price, you can have them together on one app and a big bonus you can record and not have to pay a subscription.

Amazing! Bought to monitor my son's epilepsy during the night. Easy to set up (does require a micro SD card), clear picture, detects the slightest of movements as well as sound. Good notifications and a clear playback list of all movements/sounds detected and their exact times. Really helpful piece of equipment that gives peace of mind

It is generally not recommended to use an extension cable to power the camera, as this may affect its performance. Please consider the following points:
1. The material and length of the extension cable may cause the voltage reaching the Tapo camera to be lower than the voltage it requires to operate, resulting in some unusual behavior, such as the camera automatically restarting at night or getting stuck when panning and tilting.
2. Using extension cords outdoors may also increase the risk of lightning damage, which may void your product's warranty.
3. If you must use an extension cord, please consider a cable with 22 AWG or thicker wire to minimize voltage drops and ensure your camera receives adequate power. Additionally, ensure the cable is properly waterproofed and lightning-protected.
For optimal performance, we recommend using the original power adapter and cord that came with the Tapo camera.
