Great for checking on the house while away
Cute little chap. No longer need a pet sitter (RIP Darcey) so while I was on holiday this camera was perfect for giving me peace of mind that the house was still standing (and hadn't been burned to the ground because I left the iron on!). Set up facing the TV in the living room. Not sure it would have been much use if I had spotted a burglar but I would have enjoyed playing back the recording so I could see the disappointed look on the burglars face when he saw our TV is tiny and only worth about £2.50. Priceless.

Excellent Tapo indoor cctv camera. Only £30 . Fantastic value for money. You can pan, tilt and zoom, record sounds and lots more. Just purchase a reasonable memory card, pop it in, and off you go. Connects to your wifi fairly easily. I have mine placed in a window for security but you will get some slight reflection from glass but it is quite acceptable. Costs nothing after initial purchase. Detection is brill. So when you are on the beach in Spain you can go into the app and check what's on the camera absolutely amazing. Night vision is good unless extremely dark however it will still detect.

Excellent purchase
I bought this 2 weeks ago and so far am pleased with the connectivity and images captured each time their is motion. The pictures are excellent and visible both day and night. The panning is excellent but I have not used the audio function it is an indoor camera. The SD card for storage has been difficult to obtain though.

It is generally not recommended to use an extension cable to power the camera, as this may affect its performance. Please consider the following points:
1. The material and length of the extension cable may cause the voltage reaching the Tapo camera to be lower than the voltage it requires to operate, resulting in some unusual behavior, such as the camera automatically restarting at night or getting stuck when panning and tilting.
2. Using extension cords outdoors may also increase the risk of lightning damage, which may void your product's warranty.
3. If you must use an extension cord, please consider a cable with 22 AWG or thicker wire to minimize voltage drops and ensure your camera receives adequate power. Additionally, ensure the cable is properly waterproofed and lightning-protected.
For optimal performance, we recommend using the original power adapter and cord that came with the Tapo camera.

The data consumption for watching live video or uploadingclips to the cloud server depends on the camera resolutionand the duration of use. On average, the upload bandwidth for each camera should not exceed 5 Mbps. Apart from streaming video, camera's other activities like communication with the IOT cloud take up a little data.

1. You can choose to record all the time like live view or only record snippets as and when it detects motion. This is set from the app.
2. I do it all via SD card. Its fantastic and free. Yes you can set the app to notify you when it detects motion and or sounds. It will record video of those events. And you can play back within the app.
3. You cant turn camera off remotely but you can set it to privacy mode and its just blank and wont record. Get a TAPO smart plug if you want it on or off.

The Tapo C220 needs to stay plugged in. It draws power from the power adapter, so it can stay on all week as long as it’s connected to an outlet. The “wireless” part only means the camera connects to your Wi‑Fi (2.4 GHz).
