Great value for money and perfect for puppy training. We bought the Tapo camera to keep an eye on our puppy, and it has been incredibly helpful. Being able to check in on him remotely has really supported his training, especially when settling him at night or making sure he’s calm when left alone. The video quality is clear, the app is easy to use, and the alerts give real peace of mind. It’s been a key tool in helping us stay consistent with training and routines. I bought this Tapo link camera Just before Christmas must say I’m so disappointed in it. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy poor sound quality The rating advertise for this camera by the makers is completely misleading to consumers. its a visual Camera it is not an audio camera and I needed it to do audio not just visual, huge let down. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy it. I got a refund.

Yes — you can turn off night vision (IR LEDs) on the Tapo C220, which prevents the irritating reflection you'd get shooting through a window. Here's how:
Disable IR LEDs via App
Open the Tapo app and navigate to your C220's Live View.
Tap the status label at the top-right, which typically shows “Auto”.
Choose “Day Mode” to disable the IR LEDs.
This stops night vision and prevents IR reflection against the glass.
Trade-offs
No night vision when switched to Day Mode—so it won’t capture low-light scenes at night.
If kept in Auto Mode, the IR LEDs will activate, and glare through window glass will occur. Disabling night vision enough to avoid that requires manual switching.
Advanced Hardware Workaround (Tech-Savvy)
For those comfortable with tech tinkering (note: this voids warranty):
You can physically remove or disable the IR LEDs by opening the camera and desoldering or removing their PCB — a method described for the similar C110 model.
Recommendation
For most users, simply switching to Day Mode via the app is the safest and easiest way to avoid IR reflection through windows.

The Tapo C220 camera has built-in support for cloud storage (Tapo Care) and also, supports local SD card storage for video recording. However, if you do not use an SD card, the recording options are limited:
Recording Without an SD Card
Cloud Storage (Tapo Care Subscription Required)
Without an SD card, the Tapo C220 only records event-based clips (motion detection or AI-based events) if you subscribe to Tapo Care.
The free plan provides only real-time viewing, while the paid plan allows event recording for up to 30 days in the cloud.
No Continuous Recording Without an SD Card
The camera does not support continuous (24/7) recording without an SD card or NVR (Network Video Recorder).
If there is no Tapo Care subscription, the camera only provides live viewing, but no footage is saved.
