We bought this box of 4 Smart WiFi plugs & gave each of our 4 kids one to put a lamp on in their home as a security measure & as a welcoming light when they return home in the dark. They each used the Tapo app to set up the timer to come on at sunset so the timer automatically updates as the days get longer.

The supplier has advised the following for the Tapo P110 4-Pack Smart Wi-Fi Plugs- Energy Usage Monitoring:
"Tapo smart plugs support remote control from anywhere, including from abroad. Remote management is enabled by default, so no additional configuration is required.
As long as your Tapo plug is set up correctly and has access to the internet, you can control it remotely using the Tapo app with cellular/mobile data or any internet connection. The app sends commands through the TP-Link cloud server, which then relays them to your device.
Regarding monitoring after power outages: Tapo smart plugs (especially energy monitoring models) can continue operating after being set up properly.
However, there's an important consideration • if the smart plug experiences a power outage, it needs to reconnect to the internet to re-synchronize the device time.
Without this reconnection, the plug's software functionalities (including monitoring and remote control) will not work properly until internet connection is restored.
So you'll be able to monitor and control your appliances after a power outage, but only once the plug successfully reconnects to your home Wi-Fi and the internet.
This means you can remotely check and control your heaters and other appliances from abroad, and after power outages you'll regain control once your home internet and the plugs reconnect."
