Smaller bubbles mean up to 75% less noise than previous models, so it is not possible to incorporate a volume control.

The plastic water level indicator is held in place by friction. If you try to remove it gently, while the unit is cold, it will come away. It can also be put back in.

Having checked the manual I can see you will need to lower the filter into the kettle, and engage the bottom hook in the bottom of the spout. Press the top of the filter towards the kettle, to lock the hook in
place.
