Exactly what I was looking for.
I purchased this kettle about 3 weeks ago. It does exactly what it says on the tin..It is quiet and boils very quickly. It also looks very stylish, just what I was looking for.

Great little kettle
I've had this kettle for over a month now. I can confirm that it's much quieter than my previous kettles, including a fancy Bosch kettle and a couple of glass ones. The sound is more like louder hissing rather than an approaching train some of the kettles sounded like. It boils relatively quickly and is lighter than expected. I like the lid, but reading other reviews I expect this will be the first part to go. However, most kettles I've had in the past developed some sort of issues with the lid so nothing out of the ordinary for this type of a kitchen appliance.

Replacement for an old kettle
This is the same shape and capacity as our old Russell Hobbs kettle which needed replacing when the on/off switch broke after many years use. The new kettle is much quieter than the old one, and boils quicker. We would recommend this model to anyone.

Lovely kettle
I really like this kettle, it boils quietly and pours really nicely (my last kettle used to drip when I poured so this was very important to me!) It looks nice in my kitchen too and I like the blue light around the bottom of the kettle. I'd highly recommend.

Smaller bubbles mean up to 75% less noise than previous models, so it is not possible to incorporate a volume control.

The plastic water level indicator is held in place by friction. If you try to remove it gently, while the unit is cold, it will come away. It can also be put back in.

Having checked the manual I can see you will need to lower the filter into the kettle, and engage the bottom hook in the bottom of the spout. Press the top of the filter towards the kettle, to lock the hook in
place.
