Great high performance mid budget SSD.
Argos was the cheapest place I could find this SSD. Item was delivered quickly and works very well. Perfect for a mid budget gaming PC build. My only complaint about this Samsung SSD is that the heatsink isn't removable (voids warranty if removed). Most motherboards I have seen, the main SSD slot is on the left, which means when you install this drive, the Samsung logo is upside down, with no way to rectify this. Doesn't affect performance at all, just looks a bit rubbish if you're building a PC with a glass side panel.

Overall great NVME
Used this in my first pc build and I have to say it is a very affordable nvme, and it does the job perfectly. However, because of the raised corners on the heatsink there was some issues with the gpu installation so had to use the second slot.

price inflation out of control
Product is as described and the technical specifications meet my needs for a high speed medium capacity modern nvme M2. however, the pricing is poor value for money, and continues to inflate. it is cheaper to import a higher capacity product in the same line from the US than to buy this one here.

From the information we have available, I can advise updating the firmware of the Samsung 990 PRO Heatsink 2TB SSD without using a PC is not possible. The firmware update process requires the use of Samsung Magician software, which is only available for PC
For PS5 users, this means you'll need to temporarily remove the SSD from the PS5 and connect it to a PC to perform the firmware update. Once the update is complete, you can reinstall the SSD back into the PS5.
