About this product
The Habitat Xylo Nesting Tables give you flexible surface space that tucks away when you don't need it. There's two tables with walnut-stained ash veneer that nest together, so you can pull them out for drinks and snacks when friends come round, then slide them back to reduce floor space. The wide legs keep everything stable, while the bevelled top and matt varnish finish give each table a bit of character. They'll work as side tables, plant stands, or extra surfaces wherever you need them.
The walnut stain brings out the natural wood grain, so each table's got its own look. They're made from oak veneer over an engineered base, that gives you lasting stability. The dark finish works well with neutral sofas and lighter walls. Each table holds up to 50kg, so they'll support lamps, books or your morning coffee without wobbling. Self-assembly's straightforward, one person can manage it with the instructions provided. Comes with a one-year guarantee.

Not stable, poor quality
The legs of the table were supposed to have holes for the screws to go in, well most of the legs didn’t have holes for the screws, and the one that do have holes they were way to small for the screws provided. Luckily I have a small drill and drilled holes but took me over an hour to assemble a coffee table that should have taken no more than 10mins…

Complete scam - can’t be put together
As many many reviews (dating back to early 2024!!) mention, there is a manufacturing issue with this side table which means it cannot be put together. The fact that Argos are still selling these despite the fact that this is known fault for 2 years is absolute appalling. Customer service were completely useless and rude when I raised this issue.

Nice tables but not as described
Nice tables, but not as described. I purchased the walnut colour, in reality they are closer to the natural colour. The edge detail on the table is also not as shown - they are the same as the natural colour is shown wi the a square edge, not curved.

Beautiful tables but faulty
We had to return the first tables because the holes in the legs were too small and too shallow. Our second order was exactly the same but we drilled our own holes to fit and now have 2 lovely tables. Aside from this the quality and design are good. If you buy them, check the holes in the legs.

Nice looking.
I bought this item as I liked the design and the size of it. However, I had a nightmare just putting the legs on as is necessary. I found the holes far too small for the fittings. I ended up having to drill to make the holes bigger. One of the tables is a bit wobbly as I couldn't get the screw in properly and I couldn't get the screw back out either to drill the hole bigger. Reasonably priced but I found it was not worth the effort putting it together.

Looks great - problem with assembly
This is a reasonably priced and good looking nest of two tables which look great against the rest of the furniture in our lounge. Note - they do not fully nest, but that was fine for us. They are sturdy and appear to be good quality BUT there was a problem with assembly as a previous reviewer had also mentioned. Metal plates have to be screwed onto the legs first but the pre drilled screw holes were not deep enough to take the screws. It was not possible just to screw the screws in deeper as the wood is very hard. I had to drill the holes deeper first with a suitable wood drill bit. This was easy enough for me and very quick as I had the correct drill bit and drill for the job, but not everybody would have these things to hand which would have made assembly very difficult if not impossible. If it had not been for this issue I would have given 5 stars.

Nice, but not as advertised.
The tables are very nice, easy to assemble and good value for money, but they are not the same shape a lot advertised. The table tops are not curved around the edge, they are square. CS team said I need to carry the tables back to store for them to review as they state it is not policy to do this online as I collected them and didnt have them delivered.

Yes this should be as dark as it looks. We do aim to keep the images on our website as close as is reasonably possible to the actual true colour though some effects such as the background and lighting used may affect it in some cases. However, without knowing which other Habitat furniture items you have, we cannot confirm if the shades will match. If they're the same range, i.e. also Xylo, then they are likely to be a close match.

The supplier has advised the following for the Xylo Solid Wood Nest of 2 Tables - Walnut:
The top panel is MDF with an ash veneer, the legs are solid wood (also ash). The Walnut referred to is the colour of the finish rather than the material.
