Great thermometer
I needed a thermometer quickly but not one that was in ear. I have to say that it does take a little getting used to having to swipe, but the accuracy was great and even if you did not quite swipe as instructed, the reading was always the same. Good instructions that included information on what different temperatures meant, showing normal and those that were more concerning. Good price, good size. Glad I chose this item.

Inaccurate readings
I returned this product as it was too inaccurate! I tried this thermometer several times to get a reading. Each time the reading was different. It would read at least up to 8°c different from what it told me a minute before. Even indicating someone had a severe temperature when they were fine with the previous reading. I tested this on 3 people, myself included. I also tested this thermometer against my mums regular forehead thermometer. My mums thermometer gave more accurate readings for all 3 of us on what our body temperature is likely to be. I read the instructions for the TempleSwipe and followed them, i tried the swipe of going slow and down the temple, but it still never gave similar readings. Apparently there is a knack to using this. I don't want to master the knack, I just wanted a simple way to read a temperature. Every thermometer i searched on Argos seem to have new technology readings. I just want a regular forehead reading one. Not in ear and have to buy the plastic caps, not swipe motion or under the arm one. I wish companies would still make basic ones for those of us that want basic ease of use!

Friend was diagnosed with Adult Chicken Pox with 300 to 400 spots he had a temperature of 39.6 when he first used this forehead swipe thermometer. He was ecstatic at the effectiveness of the device but it might have had something to do with how I'll he was! On account of this reception this reaction the device is priceless!

Hi, Blondie27! Thank you for your question. After pressing on the “Temperature button”, you must slowly swipe from just above the eyebrow to the ear and back again while the short beeps are heard. Be sure to make gentle but firm contact with the skin for the duration of the measurement. Only remove the thermometer from the skin after hearing the long, 2-second confirmation beep.
