We bought it to use as a stair ladder for which it is impracticable, it does not have the support and is rickety when used at its full extension for the height stated. Plus the instructions on how to use are very poor.

After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the Werner 4 in 1 Combination Ladder.
you can use these ladders on stairs, provided it is set up correctly in the stairwell function.
Position the Stabilizer: Ensure the stabilizer is placed at the highest point of the stairs.
Adjust the Fly Section: Make sure the fly section (the extendable part of the ladder) is positioned three steps down from the stabilizer.

No, the ladder can only be used in the configuration shown with the stabiliser bar being on the stairs. We’d advise against using it in any manner that’s it’s not designed for and to attempt to do so would be at your own risk.

The Argos answer is quite simply wrong. The ladder extends to 3.51m. The working height of a person standing at the safest height of the fully extended ladder is considered to be 4.27m based on some assumptions about average adult height. Once again, Argos has given false information about a product it sells. The ladder is not 4.27m in length. That is the maximum safe working height. The length of the ladder is 3.51m. Argos would know this if they spent just a minute visiting the Werner website before replying to the question. Shoddy customer service.

Is the ladder stored away from areas where it’s condition could deteriorate more rapidly e.g. dampness, excessive heat, or exposed to the elements? ? Is the ladder stored in a position which helps it remain straight e.g. hung by the stiles on proper ladder brackets or laid on a flat clutter free surface? ? Is the ladder stored where it cannot be damaged by vehicles, heavy objects, or contaminants? ? Is the ladder stored where it cannot cause a trip hazard or an obstruction? ? Is the ladder stored securely where it cannot be easily used for criminal purposes? ?
