This is a well made, sturdy product. Great value. The only slight criticism is that the locking bar is not very positive, so you do need to make sure it is secure before stepping onto it.

Love this little stool, so handy to store down ide of washing machine and easy to open when needed. This is the second one ive bought as my son just moved into his own home and borrowed/stole my original one

The supplier has advised the Werner 2 Tread Steel-Framed Stepstool - Black has a red clip that requires lifting, this will allow you to fold the item.

The higher measurement could be referring to the folded dimensions, which would be higher than when unfolded. But when in use, the platform height would be 45cm
Whatever the height of the top platform is, its the same as the height of the sides, as shown in the images.
So the official answer, of the, size, being H O.55 but the maximum platform height, only 0.45 cm doesnt make sense.

The top rung is 45cm high. The 55cm will be from the lowest point to the highest point of the stepstool.
