Sturdy and stable
Really pleased with these steps as they are easy to fold, move about and store and you feel safe when using with the rigid way they lock providing a stale platform to stand on. Also they are robustly made and will hopefully give many years of use.

The supplier has advised the Werner 2 Tread Steel-Framed Stepstool - Black has a red clip that requires lifting, this will allow you to fold the item.

The higher measurement could be referring to the folded dimensions, which would be higher than when unfolded. But when in use, the platform height would be 45cm
Whatever the height of the top platform is, its the same as the height of the sides, as shown in the images.
So the official answer, of the, size, being H O.55 but the maximum platform height, only 0.45 cm doesnt make sense.

The top rung is 45cm high. The 55cm will be from the lowest point to the highest point of the stepstool.
