These steps have been a lifesaver for me as I'm a pensioner and try to do most of my own decorating. They aren't too heavy to move about but the bonus is the foldout tray attachment to put a roller tray on+brushes. I can easily reach my ceiling now + clean the tops of kitchen cupboards.

I think it’s got plastic
At top of steps at side o small cross bar is a little black tab you push it forward to open steps then backward to close. Takes time to figure out
