The classic Acctim Smartlite sweeper alarm clock has traditional smart styling with a clear analogue display in bold black numbers. The crescendo alarm will ease you out of your slumber and there is a snooze function if you fancy a few more extra minutes in bed. Featuring a Smartlite function which automatically illuminates the display for easy night time viewing and turns off again during the daytime to prolong battery life. Argos great alarm clock offer!
Living very close to my local Argos I often check to see if they have suitable products in stock. This acctim alarm clock is genius as it's nighttime illumination is totally adjustable so it doesn't disturb sleep yet can still be visible in complete darkness. Being able to pick it up from my local Argos with a discount code was a real bonus. Thoroughly recommended!

Alarm clock
I bought this alarm clock about a month ago and I'm reasonably happy with it. I like the way it light up after dark and can be adjusted. The face is nice and clear. Unfortunately the alarm is rather feeble for some one who's earing is not too good

Good clock....the only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5 is that it comes with absolutely no instructions. Well mine did not at least. I bought it for the night time illumination. When I put the batteries in day time I could see absolutely no difference as I turned the dial from low to high as to light the clock. I soon found out only come night time that's you can see the difference... Still from clocks I had before even in day time one could see the difference. Bit fiddly on amending the dials as very small inward plastic parts but once set up amazing.

While sweep movement clocks are designed to be much quieter than standard ticking quartz clocks, they are not completely silent. A slight whirring or humming sound may still be audible as the seconds hand moves continuously around the dial. This is normal and is a characteristic of the sweep movement.
The main difference between a sweep movement and a standard quartz movement is that the sweep seconds hand moves smoothly and continuously around the dial, whereas a standard quartz movement advances the seconds hand in one-second "ticks," producing a more noticeable ticking sound.
