Works well but short cable
So far so good. I quite like the weight as it helps with deep creases. Glides well. I like the vent which opens to add water. Irons I've had in the past have small spouts which overflow unless you pour in very slowly. Downside is the cable is quite short so I'm limited on where I can plug in.

this Philips iron is fine and I trust will give me many years of service although Philips has missed a trick by supplying virtually no useful tips, etc. I guess it and its function are all too simple but a missed chance to cultivate customer loyalty when they sell such a wide range of household appliances..

I chose this as it is a Which Best Buy. It was rated higher than lower priced rivals by Which. It performs well and the only point of difference with the Which review is that they described it as light and easy to handle. It is heavier than my previous iron but that is not really a problem once you get accustomed to it.

Philips DST7020 Azur Steam Iron
The time it takes to use a tank of water varies depending on the fabric, temperature chosen and how much steam you need to iron each item. It automatically switches itself off after 8 minutes of not being used. It doesn't have a clip for the cable.
