Amazing steam iron - Tef. GV9713G0 Pro Express Ult
Of course! Here is a detailed review of the Tefal GV9713G0 Pro Express Ultimate II Steam Generator Iron, written in a consumer-focused style. --- Tefal GV9713G0 Pro Express Ultimate II Steam Generator Iron: The Ultimate Ironing Powerhouse? Having spent significant time with the Tefal Pro Express Ultimate II, it's clear this isn't just an iron; it's a statement of intent against wrinkles. It sits at the premium end of the market, and for good reason. Here’s a breakdown of what it offers. First Impressions & Build Quality The machine has a sleek, modern design in grey and black, feeling robust and well-engineered. The 1.8-litre water tank is substantial but not overwhelmingly bulky. Everything from the hinge of the iron cradle to the feel of the controls exudes quality. It’s heavier as a unit, but the iron itself is lightweight and manoeuvrable. Key Features & Performance 1. Unrivalled Steam Power (600g/min): This is the headline act. The 600 grams per minute of steam output is phenomenal. It demolishes stubborn wrinkles on cotton, linen, and denim with almost comical ease. Curtains, tablecloths, and piled-up laundry that would make a conventional iron weep are handled in minutes. The Pro Express function (a supercharged 600g/min burst) is like a turbo boost for the toughest creases. 2. The Ultimate Anti-Calc System (10-Year Warranty): A major selling point. The integrated anti-calc cartridge filters the water and is designed to last the lifetime of the product, backed by a 10-year warranty. For anyone in a hard water area, this is a game-changer, eliminating the need for descaling or using distilled water. It promises consistent steam performance and longevity. 3. "Infinite Steam" Feature: This clever function allows you to steam delicate items (like silk blouses or suits on a hanger) continuously for up to 10 minutes. It’s incredibly effective for refreshing garments without direct contact with the soleplate. 4. Superior Soleplate & Glide: The Durilium Airglide Elite soleplate is exceptional. It's incredibly smooth, gliding over fabrics with almost no friction. The perforations are numerous, ensuring steam is distributed evenly across the entire surface. It resists scratches well and cleans easily. 5. Practicality & Usability: · Automatic Shut-off: Safety features for peace of mind. · Ready-to-Use Indicator: A clear light tells you when optimal steam pressure is reached (usually in under 2 minutes). · Variable Steam Settings: Easy dial control for different fabrics. · Self-Clean Function: Keeps the steam system in top shape with a press of a button. Pros: · Raw Power: The 600g/min steam is industry-leading and saves immense time. · Truly Maintenance-Free: The 10-year anti-calc system is a huge weight off your mind. · Exceptional Results: Produces a crisp, professional finish on all fabrics. · Versatile: From heavy-duty ironing to delicate garment steaming. · Quality Build: Feels built to last many years. Cons: · Premium Price: It is a significant investment. · Size: Requires dedicated storage space; not something you tuck in a small cupboard. · Weight of Unit: The generator itself is heavy when full, so you need a stable ironing board setup. · Learning Curve: The sheer power means you need to be careful with very delicate fabrics, even on low settings. Verdict: Who Is This For? The Tefal Pro Express Ultimate II is not for the occasional user who irons one shirt a week. It is a professional-grade tool for the home. Buy it if: · You have a large household with significant volumes of laundry (especially cottons and linens). · You value your time and want to cut ironing sessions by more than half. · You live in a hard water area and want zero maintenance. · You demand the absolute best, most effortless ironing results. Consider a simpler model if: · Your ironing load is light and infrequent. · You have very limited storage space. · The premium price tag is a stretch for your budget. Final Thought: The Tefal GV9713G0 Pro Express Ultimate II is arguably one of the best steam generators available for domestic use. Its combination of brutal steam power, the revolutionary anti-calc system, and superb ease of use justifies its price for serious ironers. It transforms a chore into a quick, efficient, and surprisingly satisfying task. If you iron regularly, this machine is a genuine life upgrade. 5/5 Stars.

Very good!
Good, generally happy, a keeper…. but drips a bit and won’t let me use steam on all heat settings (iron knows best). Much much better than a competing costing much more. So good value.

It’s a very good iron but I have knocked off one star because of the non retractable mains lead .

Hi Mo. we've created a helpful video that demonstrates the proper way to store the cable. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF0gMPU55c8.... If you need further assistance please reach out to us through: https://www.tefal.co.uk/contact-us...
Hi, we're sorry to hear this. We can advise to make sure that you do not try to use steam before the iron is hot enough. When ironing on a low temperature, decrease the steam output by adjusting the steam output dial on the control panel. Wait for the iron temperature control light to go out before ironing.
If you press and hold down the steam button for too long (for example when ironing large items such as sheets), this can cool down the soleplate and so it will not be hot enough to produce steam and you will see water instead.
If you use your generator for only short periods of time on a regular basis. For instance the odd shirt. When you switch on the generator it may try and draw more water into the boiler which may already still be quite full. The water will then be pushed out of the soleplate instead. If this happens, let the generator cool down (around 2 hours) and empty the boiler completely. Fill the water tank with cold untreated tap water and switch on. Try and use the generator for longer periods of time and not in regular short periods.
You should always use a vented/mesh type ironing board to prevent water spots on the clothes as the board will become saturated and dampen the clothes as the powerful steam cannot escape through the board.
If you require any further assistance, please visit our contact us page: https://www.tefal.co.uk/contact-us... and our customer service team will be happy to assist you as soon as possible.
Are you waiting till the temperature on your iron is warm enough before using it ? Wait till it beeps before using it. It takes 2 minutes to heat up.
Or could it be that you have overfilled the water tank?
Try switching it off if it leaks, wait a few minutes and turn it back on and try again.
Has the water tank clicked in properly ?
If none of these help, I would return it to the store and let them know. It could be a fault with the iron.
Hope you get it resolved 🙂
Hi Niffer. The soleplate automatically adjust the temperature depending on the material through its smart technology
We can advise that the orange «anti-calc» light located on the control panel will start to flash to inform that the scale collector needs rinsing.
Hi Sewar,
No, the descaling light will be blinking when the Tefal GV9713G0 Pro Express Ultimate II Steam Generator Iron needs descaling, your iron will stop steaming. You need to complete the full descaling routine before the steam generator is ready to use again.
Thank you for using Q&A
Please only use untreated tap water in the iron. If you know you live in a hard water area the untreated tap water can be mixed 50/50 with either distilled or demineralised water but there needs to be at least a 50% concentration of untreated tap water used in order for the steam function to work properly. Our irons are specifically made to use untreated tap water. Do not use any other water type as these contain organic waste, mineral elements that become concentrated when heated and cause spitting, brown staining, leaking or premature wear on your iron.
Hi Bunting
