Very powerful steam and easy to use

Setup was quick and straightforward, and the iron heats up fast. Great

My old iron was already a steam iron and also tefal, I did notice a massive dif on this one, there is no temp wheel on this one and I think it’s what still makes me confusion, it also uses a lot more water than my last one but it is normal as this one works 100% with steam, it takes a couple min to heat up, and it is also bigger than my old one, but so much lighter. Still trying to get used to it but it has def cut my ironing time in probably double the time, and as a family of 5 I couldn’t ask for more. It does remind me a lot of the steam irons from big laundries. It takes the creases away in a second it’s insane.It is a 10/10 for me and I am very glad that I got to try this thank you so much

The only iron steamer I'd use

It's become less of a chore and 100% more of a delight! I never thought I'd say that. So the iron itself is quite lightweight, it has lots of steam to work through even the toughest of wrinkles. My clothes look brilliant and ironing is now effortless. The fact I don't have to guess which setting to put it on too is just genius. The instructions are super easy to understand too. The tefal express not only looks great but is a product I'd buy again and again. Making ironing effortless, I'm proud to use and it's halved how long I spend ironing. For me it's worth it's weight in gold! Brilliant

Incredible iron!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not usually someone who gets overly excited about irons…however this iron has left me speechless and I actually look forward to having to use it! It’s amazing! It glides effortlessly over all types of clothing and you don’t need to fuss about with heat settings for different materials, it does it all automatically. The iron itself is very light and easy to use (the base unit is quiet heavy when full of water, but that doesn’t really matter as you don’t need to move it), it glides smoothly and generates an enormous amount of steam! It’s like being in a sauna! I’ve tried this on all sorts of clothing from thick jeans to office shirts, school uniform and even thick curtains - no creases stand a chance with this iron! I cannot recommend this iron enough, it is simply incredible!

Worthy upgrade

Hi, we're sorry to hear this. We can advise to make sure that you do not try to use steam before the iron is hot enough. When ironing on a low temperature, decrease the steam output by adjusting the steam output dial on the control panel. Wait for the iron temperature control light to go out before ironing.
If you press and hold down the steam button for too long (for example when ironing large items such as sheets), this can cool down the soleplate and so it will not be hot enough to produce steam and you will see water instead.
If you use your generator for only short periods of time on a regular basis. For instance the odd shirt. When you switch on the generator it may try and draw more water into the boiler which may already still be quite full. The water will then be pushed out of the soleplate instead. If this happens, let the generator cool down (around 2 hours) and empty the boiler completely. Fill the water tank with cold untreated tap water and switch on. Try and use the generator for longer periods of time and not in regular short periods.
You should always use a vented/mesh type ironing board to prevent water spots on the clothes as the board will become saturated and dampen the clothes as the powerful steam cannot escape through the board.

Are you waiting till the temperature on your iron is warm enough before using it ? Wait till it beeps before using it. It takes 2 minutes to heat up.
Or could it be that you have overfilled the water tank?
Try switching it off if it leaks, wait a few minutes and turn it back on and try again.
Has the water tank clicked in properly ?
If none of these help, I would return it to the store and let them know. It could be a fault with the iron.

No, the descaling light will be blinking when the Tefal GV9713G0 Pro Express Ultimate II Steam Generator Iron needs descaling, your iron will stop steaming. You need to complete the full descaling routine before the steam generator is ready to use again.

Please only use untreated tap water in the iron. If you know you live in a hard water area the untreated tap water can be mixed 50/50 with either distilled or demineralised water but there needs to be at least a 50% concentration of untreated tap water used in order for the steam function to work properly. Our irons are specifically made to use untreated tap water. Do not use any other water type as these contain organic waste, mineral elements that become concentrated when heated and cause spitting, brown staining, leaking or premature wear on your iron.
