Vile smell
Functionality perfect, quiet, quick boil and looks good however, despite several attempts with different products, after 7 days use I have been unable to remove the dreadful plastic smell on boiling and the plastic taste from the drinks. I have unfortunately thrown away the packaging so cannot return it.

The supplier has advised the following for the Kenwood ZJP09.000BK Dawn Kettle - Black:
Kenwood does not use polycarbonate in any parts that come into contact with food, and we will not release a product for sale unless tests show no BPA is detected. In addition, all materials have to comply with MicwF (materials in contact with food.) The filter is located inside the kettle however there is a catch inside the spout to release the filter.
