Just had it fitted today, gutted that the bulbs I bought ( same as a friend) don’t fit, not going to be bright enough sadly, will shop around. Good airflow and looks stunning , can’t wait to go to bed 😂

A bit fiddly to fit but excellent for the price
Great fan - keeps a good-size lounge lovely and cool even in this heatwave. Installation is the key thing to factor in - it took my husband (who is a very competent DIYer) about 2hrs+ to install with a spare pair of hands for passing and holding tools and parts. Due to the weight, the bracket does need to be drilled into a joist so be sure to check that before you order. Also be aware that you cannot get spare glass light covers or blades so do handle with care. However, once it was installed, it has been marvellous and looks very smart too!

Great product, a pain to install
An excellent product, very good quality. A little tedious to put together and install... It was not easy to fit all the wiring and the remote control receiver within the space provided. But after a few hours of cursing at it, it was a god send to sleep under the fan. The fan is surprisingly quiet considering the size of the unit. No worse that sleeping with a white noise machine. Build quality is sturdy and impressive. There was one missing screw.

Sleeping cool though a heatwave!
delivered last Saturday, hubby put it straight up in our bedroom, It is fab, 100% recommend! it does look quite big is my only criticism and we have 8ft high ceilings. It's kept us cool every night since, handy remote with 3 settings and not noisy! my daughter now wants one in her room!

Superb Ceiling fan what a boon it is.
What an absolute boon this ceiling fan is, especially during this hot spell. No more sleepless nights. The fan remote control has 3 speeds 4 time settings and a light on/off button . The twin light bulbs is enough to illuminate the room. But, there is always a but. The instruction manual in my eyes is correct but in the wrong order. I assembled it this way. After locating the joist and wiring, I connected the feed wiring to the ceiling bracket. Then screwed the bracket to the center of the joist. As per the instructions, assemble the fan motor and shaft. Then lifting up the fan and shaft assemby up to the bracket you then twist the shaft until it drops and secures/locks into position. Then your hands are free to connect up all of the wiring (as per the instructions) Then connect up the fan blades screwing in the middle screw of the 3 holes first.The lamp holder plate was my only slight misgiving, After connecting up the light wire loom, I offered up the light plate to the two securing screws (twist and lock holes on the plate) But it looked twisted, then I realised there is another screw at the back that you have to remove first and after assembling the plate, then you reinsert the 3rd screw back into the smaller hole. Then connect and screw in the light bulbs (not supplied) then test the fan and lights, if all is good, then screw in the glass shade onto the lamp plate turning it in anti clockwise. Then the Jobs a gooden. It took me 3 hours but I am so happy I purchased it.

Good looking fan and does a great job
Firstly, great service from Argos …..as always It took longer to fit to the ceiling than I expected, lots of wires you have to push through the main tube from the motor to the remote receiver which sits just below the ceiling bracket and then wire to your existing wiring, not a lot of room.. anyway, all fixed and it looks great 👍 3 speeds, medium is plenty. Lastly very quiet, especially as it’s fitted in the bedroom

The product can still be connected to a wall dimmer switch; however, it will only provide an on/off function. You will need to turn it on using the wall switch and then operate the fan and light using the remote control supplied with the product.

Argos Home Manhattan Ceiling Fan - Satin Nickel can be wired to the wall switch but that only has the function to turn on/off the power and the fan still need to be operated by the remote control even if wired to a wall switch.
