I have tried this out once since it was delivered a few days ago. It feels lighter but more powerful than my existing cordless trimmer. It has a generous cord length and is very easy to use. It cuts well but not sure about the saw blade tip - perhaps I hadn't figured out how best to use it.

Doesn't cut any better than the twenty plus year old model it replaced, which I'd busted when I accidentally dropped it. The saw function at the end of the cutting bar chews away at branches but never cuts through. Overall, it's ok and decently priced but not an improvement on older lower spec models.

Great kit
Brought this as an upgrade and last minute purchase as my previous hedge trimmer blew up mid job. This trimmer was on offer and was actually a great purchase. It easily finished off the rest of the hedge with no problem and it is not heavy. The saw feature at the end off the cutter is a great addition.

Read the reports for most of the hedge trimmers in this price bracket, Black and Decker came out the best option, and a great price. Used it a couple of times already and it cuts box hedges and small bushes better than the others hedge trimmers i have bought in this price range. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a hedge trimmer to cut small to medium sized hedges. The weight of the trimmer is much lighter than others, and has a good safety feature.

There is a retainer on the trimmer, please see below, but it is quite fiddly to put the cable through. It is mentioned in the manual but it is listed as an ”extension cord”.

“ As per the manual,
Attaching extension cord to trimmer (fig. C) A cord retainer (7) is incorporated into the rear of the switch handle (6). u Near the end of the extension cord, fold the extension cord to create a loop.
You Feed the loop into the cord retainer housing 11 as shown in Fig. C. Hook the loop onto the cord retainer 7 so it rests in the cord retainer. Plug the extension cord into the unit. ”

The standard full length blade cuts up to 25mm but at the tip is a small saw type blade that cuts up to 35mm. The previous answer of 16mm is incorrect and is for a smaller model.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Black + Decker 60cm Corded Hedge Trimmer - 600W: Th manual states not to use the strimmer on any stems greater than 16mm.
