Great product once gotten used to
I’ve been using this for around two weeks now and, although it took some getting used it, I find it to be a brilliant iron. The quality and effectiveness is excellent. However, you do have to be near the charging base while ironing as it needs to be back on the base after less than a minute. I find the time I am able to use it is enough to get each item ironed and then by the time I have put the iron back on the base and laid out the next item, the iron is ready to use again. The steam function is really effective and the design and look of the iron is excellent. I find that the weight of the iron is lighter than a regular iron and I am able to have freer movement while ironing thanks to it being cordless. I would recommend this to friends and family.

Great lightweight and compact steam iron
I think this steam iron is such an improvement on other steam irons because it is so much more light and compact than others I have used. This means it is easier to store too and does not take up too much space.

Cordless iron
Lovely compact cordless Tefal iron, was so nice to not have a cord twisting & getting caught, heated up quite quickly, but heat didn’t last long before you have to replace it back on stand, doesn’t take long to reach temperature overall I was impressed & I guess you would get used to putting on stand inbetween ironing items

Great lightweight iron
I was really impressed with how light this iron was. Even though it was light it was very efficient and glided on items smoothly. Didn't drip at all so that was a big win for me. Cordless which made it easier to move around. The vertical steaming was an added bonus meaning I could get rid of my old separate one.

Excellent iron - game changer!
I can't believe it's taken me nearly 20 years to try a cordless iron. It's an absolute game changer to what was previously a very mundane chore. The iron itself performs well, doesn't snag on the clothes and it is light to handle. The water reservoir is a decent size and the steam function worked brilliantly on bedding. I have had no issues with the base station or charging the iron and have found that it heats up very quickly.

A Great Cordless Iron
This is a great cordless iron, which is so much easier to use than a corded one. It’s not a heavy iron, but still irons the creases out of the clothes very easily. It needs charging before use and will keep the charge topped up when it’s put back on the stand/charging unit (about 11 seconds) as you sort out the next item to be ironed. A light will flash when it needs recharging, which can be about 35 seconds. The water retainer in the iron is enough and it lasts a long time before it needs refilling. The iron can be clipped on the charging unit to make it easy to carry for storing away. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this iron after years of using corded and steam generator irons.

We are unsure of your reference to the Kates one.
The Soleplate is ceramic coated on this product. The only reason you would burn material with this iron is you have not set the correct temperature for the type of material being ironed
