Wonderful Iron!
This is such a great iron. I was hesitant to buy a cordless iron but I am glad I bought this one. The price was perfect because I recently had purchased an expensive corded iron that now has a broken tip. This iron heats up in eleven seconds (literally). You put it back in its cradle each time you shift the clothing, but that enables it to heat to usable temp again. There is a light that blinks to let you know it’s ready, though you can still use it before then. The best parts for me, though, are that it’s lightweight, and has continuous steam, no steam, or manual steam functions — all easy to toggle between. The power supply cord wraps tightly round the base and has easy storage. Thank you so much for making this, Tefal! Very pleased with my purchase. I really enjoy ironing with it.

Great cordless iron
Just used the Tefal Freemove for the first time and I was really pleased with it. It is light and just glides over the material. You have to put it onto the base frequently but no more than I would rest a corded iron and it only takes seconds to reheat.

We are unsure of your reference to the Kates one.
The Soleplate is ceramic coated on this product. The only reason you would burn material with this iron is you have not set the correct temperature for the type of material being ironed
