About this product
The Sage Bambino delivers third wave speciality coffee with professional barista performance, letting you pull authentic espresso shots and create cafe-quality drinks on your worktop. This compact manual espresso machine uses ground coffee in a professional portafilter to make espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and americanos, with a manual steam wand for frothing milk and latte art. The ThermoJet heating system with PID control heats water to 93C in moments, so you get rich, balanced espresso without the wait, while the high-pressure pump extracts full flavour and classic crema.
You'll appreciate practical features for easy use. One-touch volumetric control for single and double shots, a water tank with level gauge, and a removable drip tray for cleaning. The machine auto shuts off after 5 minutes, has a descale warning, and dishwasher-safe parts. Included are single and dual wall filter baskets for 1 and 2 cup pours, a stainless steel milk jug, aluminium portafilter, tamper, steam wand cleaning tool, water filter and holder, descaling powder, and cleaning kit. It runs on 1300 watts and has a 2-year guarantee.

It’s highly rated for a reason.
A month into ownership and after a few poor results at first, which were entirely of my making, I’m getting great espressos from my Bambino. Much quicker than previous machines I’ve had. The only negatives are minor and well documented by other owners, ie, a fairly low quality pod holder and tamper but both are quite up to the job. One other thing is that changing the pod from single to double shot is quite hard on the fingers but to be honest, I rarely need to do this. Excellent little machine at a reasonable price.

Not a coffee drinker myself, but since buying it my partner has been using it everyday and really enjoys the product. She claims it’s easy to use and makes really good coffee. Also it’s easy to clean. I will say the style looks really nice, and fits well in our kitchen.

It makes nice coffee
Bought this to replace a Curry's own brand manual espresso machine. I do feel disappointed. It rattles and splashed coffee everywhere. But the coffee is nice and it is quick to make the coffee. Wish I had saved my money and bought the cheap Curry's machine.

Having checked the instructions for the Sage SES450BSS4GUK1 Bambino Espresso Coffee Machine, it shows the following:
MANUAL MILK TEXTURING
• Lift the steam wand and insert into the milk jug with the steam wand tip 1-2cm (O inch) below the surface of the milk, close to the right-hand side of the jug at a 3 o’clock position.
• Press the STEAM button to begin texturing
• Keep the steam wand tip just under the surface of the milk until the milk is spinning clockwise, producing a vortex (whirlpool effect).
• With the milk spinning, slowly lower the jug. This will bring the steam and tip to the surface of the milk and start to introduce air into the milk.
• Gently break the surface of the milk with the tip to get the milk spinning fast enough.
• Keep the steam wand tip at or slightly below the surface, continuing to maintain the vortex. Texture the milk until sufficient volume is obtained.
• Lift the jug to lower the tip beneath the surface but keep the vortex spinning. The milk is at the correct temperature (60-65°C) when the jug is hot to touch.
• When texturing is close to acceptable desired result, press any button to stop texturing.
• After the steam is released completely, remove the steam wand from the milk jug.
