Impressive coffee maker.
First coffee maker for us so hard to compare but very impressed with the quality of it, ease of cleaning, using it and the final results of the coffee. I’m positive there’s lots more to learn but so far very happy with it.

Beautiful machine and great coffee
So far, so good. The Sage Barista Pro is a beautiful machine to look at and seems to have everything it needs to produce cafe-quality espresso and perfectly steamed, silky milk foam. I am only 2 weeks in and by no means yet an expert. I wasted almost two bags of good quality coffee trying to dial in the machine but I do seem to have got a bit more accuracy now so drinking more coffee than I lose!! The milk wand is powerful enough to create really silky milk foam and does so quickly. Everything seems very well built using good quality materials. I have made some fantastic coffees so far and I am confident that they will only get better as I continue to practice and get more au fait with the machine.

Delighted I Upgraded
I bought this machine about one month ago. Massive upgrade from my previous Nespresso machine. Delighted with the results, a bit fiddly to start, but once you get the beans you like, the grind just spot on, I'll never use Starbucks/Costa again.

Looks good but disappointed
Had the machine about a month and at first I was happy but unfortunately things have changed. I cannot get consistent results. Tried setting my own brew times etc and things got worse. Reset to default & again run times hopeless, coffee either weak & creama poor. Not sure what to do with the machine, very tempted to go back to my old Gaggia classic, simple to use and great coffee.

Great Coffee But Reliability Issues
I’ve been using the Sage Barista Pro for a few months with light daily use (around 2 coffees per day). When it works, it produces very good espresso with consistent temperature and solid steam performance. The heat-up time is quick, and the overall workflow is convenient for home use. However, I’ve experienced two recurring issues: The machine occasionally stops the shot within the first 1–2 seconds after pressing the double shot button. It usually works normally on the next attempt, but the inconsistency is noticeable and has become more frequent over time. The steam control dial becomes stiff after initial use, making it harder to operate smoothly during subsequent use. These issues affect the overall reliability of the machine, which is disappointing given the otherwise strong performance. Overall, it’s capable of great coffee, but consistency and build quality could be improved.

Fantastic coffee! Easy to use
Makes absolutely fantastic coffee. I used to prefer buying coffee from coffee shops to making it at home. Now all I want is my homemade latte.

Buy it and you wonder how you managed without
Love the machine. Found it easy to use after watching a few YouTube videos. Makes me wonder I went without for so long. It does make you realise that the coffee served in certain shops really isn’t that great. I also had a subscription when buying the machine-yes I wasted a bit when ‘dialling in’ through trial and error, but once you crack it, it’s great. Grind size 15 is a good starting point, although size 13 was ideal for me.

An upgrade, with a few trade-offs
I moved to the Barista Pro™ after many years with the Barista Express™, which I really liked. The Pro heats up much faster and looks more solid and modern, though I personally miss the manual pressure gauge on the Express™. My main issues are practical ones: the multi-hole steam tip seems to block more easily than the single-hole design on the Express™, and the steam capacity feels just about enough for making milk for two drinks, especially from cold milk. Overall, it’s a good machine, but if I were choosing again, I might either stick with the Barista Express™ or consider another model.
