Crispy chips and golden chicken for the whole family in one go. The Russell Hobbs Maxi 24570 Deep Fat Fryer handles up to 1kg of food with its 2.5l oil capacity, cooking 3-4 portions at once so everyone eats together. Variable temperature control (150-190C) lets you set the right heat, while the mechanical timer manages timing and the safety cut-out switches off if it gets too hot. The rise and fall basket drains excess oil, and the large viewing window lets you check progress without losing heat. The permanent odour filter contains smells, and at 1800W it heats quickly.
It's light enough to shift around but stable when you're cooking, and the basket gives you plenty of room for family portions. The cable gives you flexible placement options, and register it online and you'll get a reassuring 3-year guarantee.

Too small for a family of 4
I had thought this would be ideal as it holds over 2 litres of oil. Alas the shape of the basket means it is impossible to shake the chips whilst cooking them so they stick together & don’t cook evenly. The chips on the bottom of the basket stick to the basket & are overcooked. The only way I’ve found to overcome these problems is to get a metal spoon & stir up the chips. Looking for a round fryer & slightly bigger. Nice shape for storing in cupboard but alas not for cooking chips or even onion rings

Older style still quality make
Bought this older type fryer after searching and finding most are now air fryers or box shaped. Just what I needed. Searched Argos and found the exact one I had sought. Good price and available for immediate pickup nearby. Good price. 4 Stars as not used it yet but 2 year warranty should see me out

had one befor that lasted 3 years but little use dont seem to get as hot as old one but still ok for money the basket could do with lowerd a bit though the swan version is lower and hottor but 3 went wrong within a week of each other

Olive oil generally contains too much water, and can be too smoky. Buy a good quality liquid cooking oil suitable for deep frying, like sunflower or corn oil."
