About this product
The Tower XEC20 Plus is a proper 3-in-1 that weighs just under 2kg and packs cyclonic suction into something you can carry around without thinking twice. It's corded, so you've got consistent power throughout, and the 5metre cable gives you plenty of reach before you need to swap plugs. It converts between upright, stick and handheld modes depending on what you're tackling, and the dual action floorhead switches easily between carpets and hard floors.
The HEPA 13 filter traps fine allergens and dust particles, which is brilliant if anyone in the house has allergies, and it's washable so you're not replacing it. The 1 litre dustbin is a decent size for a compact vacuum, and it empties without much fuss. You get a crevice tool and brush tool included, plus a wall mount kit to keep it out of the way when you're done. Works across carpets, deep pile, wool, hard floors, laminate, upholstery and stairs.

Brought this about a week ago and it’s a good little hoover. It can’t be used for long periods of time 15 mins max but for small rooms or the car it’s perfect. In the end you get what you pay for.

Not as good as I thought it would be
I bought this on Tuesday and arranged for a return the day after. Unfortunately this hoover appears to be very poor, when using the hoover it gets very hot then cuts out, you have to wait for it to cool down before you can use it again. Hoping that this is a faulty piece of equipment and it doesn’t happen with other users.

Great for lightweight work
I bought this for its lightweight and maneuverability, for ceiling, crevices and edges to support rather than replace my heavy upright. I am pleased with the weight and pleased that my original tools are interchangeable and fit this appliance. The suction is fair, the appliance heats up quickly. So far it has does everything I asked if it but I wouldn't be convinced that it would vacuum a whole house without overheating. It would be ideal for small flat or caravan. Dust collection pan is small but empties quickly by opening the flap (it doesn't remove from main body)

May as well stick to cordless
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it is very disappointing . I wanted a small Corded vacuum as our cordless versions only held about an hour charge, The Tower model lasts for about 10 to 15 mins when it overheats and you have to wait at least an hour to use again, the crevice tool hardly had any suction. It may be cheap but it’s not value for money or worth it at that price .

I didn't realise the actual head of the vacuum would be as small as it is. However, maneuverability is good but suction could be slightly better. However, all in all for the price I would recommend this vacuum plus the three year guarantee gives you some peace of mind.

The supplier has advised for the Tower XEC20 Plus 3-in-1 Corded Vacuum Cleaner: The Tower XEC20 Plus 3-in-1 Corded Vacuum Cleaner does not have a specific operating time before it overheats, as this can depend on usage, the amount of debris collected, and the condition of the filters.
The appliance is fitted with thermal protection, which will switch the vacuum off if the motor becomes too hot. If this occurs, the vacuum should be switched off, unplugged, and allowed to cool fully before further use.
We would also like to advise that likely the cause of the overheating, when the vacuum is not emptied regularly and the filters are not cleaned as required, airflow through the motor chamber is reduced. This restriction causes the motor to work harder, resulting in overheating and potential damage.
To help prevent this issue, please ensure the dust container is emptied regularly, filters are cleaned and fully dried before refitting, and all air pathways are kept clear of blockages.

No, this model has a motorised rotating brush bar. For loop pile carpets, it is usually better to use a vacuum with a "suction-only" head.
