Great upgrade features
I bought this Yale smart home combo , as we had the old style Yale alarm system before , which had lasted us well over 17 years. The new smart Yale system is a lot better, as well as app support its WiFi range has extended way further than the old system . We live in a granite house , meaning signal can be a problem, the new system has such good WiFi coverage I have ordered additional pir, smoke, and window sensors. What a great system , I would recommend to anyone .

I bought this to replace my previous Yale alarm which had worked perfectly for twenty years before it failed. This new alarm was relatively easy to install. I was not impressed with the door contact due to its strange shape. I had to construct a wooden riser to make the sensor meet the magnet contact due to my UPVC door being 10mm higher than the door frame. This looks untidy. I wish Yale had produced plastic risers to account for different doors. The previous door contact was larger and much more robust. The contact on the new model is designed for doors that fit flush into the frame. I purchased two panic buttons for the bedrooms and added these to the system.

Easy to install
I needed to replace my old wired system, and this Yale alarm system came out well in reviews, and also on a friends recommendation. It was easy to install, and set up, from the kit. Adding extra sensors to the system, and key fobs were straight forward. The Alarm box was relatively easy to install, so long as you have a ladder avaliable. If not, install in the loft, as after a test, is loud enough to be heard outside. Also, when connected to the Internet, you get updates on the arming, disarming, and also if the alarm is triggered.

Having checked the instructions, there are only certain phrases that can be used between Alexa and the alarm. You are not able to disarm the alarm through Alexa.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Yale Sync Home Alarm Kit: ''The PIR’s in this kit are not pet friendly so if pet friendly required you would have to purchase separately to add to the kit.''

Having checked I can see door sensors are available to add on to this kit. I can also see there is no need to worry about furry friends creating false alarms with the option to part-arm and control different areas of your home.

The supplier has advised the following for the Yale Sync Home Alarm Kit:
As long as the alarm hub has a wired ethernet connection to a router then you can have alarm devices connected to the hub within a 200m range of it – the devices speak to the alarm hub via radio frequency and not WI-FI.

The supplier has advised the following for the Yale Sync Home Alarm Kit:
“ The sirens will not sound if there is a network outage.
If there is a power cut at the property, the hub will still work as a standard system via the backup battery but during this time you cannot control the system via the app on your smart phone and you will also not receive notifications during this time. ”

"Without the hub connected to your router you can use the system as a basic system to arm and disarm via the key pad with the default code."
