Does the job
I bought this for a spare bed. It has a luxurious feel and good quality. I marked it down slightly as it doesn't have sides to the cover. It sits on the mattress flat and has long thick elastic bands to hold it in place. I think it will work fine but I would have liked one that went over the mattress the same as a fitted sheet does. It will work well for mattresses that are not a standard thickness.

Mattress protectors are only thin as they just act as a cover for your mattress. It will be less than 1 cm thick.

The product description under About this producton the Argos website STILL says it can be tumble dried!! In December 2023, 2 years after this question was asked and answered as non-tumble dry! Needs anemding, or else a note adding to the Q if advice has now changed
