Basic but functional, instructions are not clear
I've used the meter for a while now and it seems to be working well. The instructions are a bit vague in some areas such as what units to use in the cost value. The meter keeps a count of the days it has been running but doesn't seem count if the load is very low but I'm not too sure about that. I had it plugged in for several days to check for vampire loads and it detected a small load at 0.3 watts and it counteed a cost over several days but didn't count up the days on the display, not sure if this is an intended function or not, nothing mentioned in the manual. When i plugged it in to a device using a proper load, the day counter functioned correctly.

Energy usage visibility.
Bought this to use in the mains supply to a hot tub. It gives a clear display of a number of features - in particular, it shows us the current, live consumption in Amps or in Watts and then provides a total electrical consumption in KWh. All of this allows us both to check that the controls on the hot tub are working properly and gives us a clear indication of the cost of running the tub .

Rubbish
Lcd display is Useless, you can only read it at eye level. I returned item as I thought it was faulty, lovely lady at argos told me they are all like that, and refused a refund. The display doesn't have a back-light, and as most sockets are 1 foot off the ground, you have to lie on the floor to read it. Stupid stupid design

Very poor instructions
I think it does what I want, but I'm still struggling to understand it. Trying to follow instructions brought up different numbers to what should be shown. Still can't work out how much it costs per hour to watch t.v.

Not easy to set up.
I found the set up of this device impossible to achieve, so in my opinion a waste of money.

Very useful
I bought this to check what energy my old fridge feezer was using to see if it was worth replacing it. Instructions clear and easy to follow. Does the job. Will now try it on my home office set up.

Hi there
Energenie Saving Power Meter
The energy consumption would depend on the product you have plugged in to it.
Hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
Hi Kirrus,
Yes, the Energenie Saving Power Meter has a reset button to clear all accumulated data, but also a history button so you can see energy consumption daily, weekly and monthly.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Energenie Saving Power Meter: ''The Power Meter can accept a single appliance or multiple appliances to be plugged in to it [as long as the total load does not exceed the rating of the extension cord]. If used with an extension cord the meter will provide a 24hr measurement for the total load, i.e it cannot disaggregate multiple devices connected via an extension cord, just the combined usage.''
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
