Does what it says on the tin
Bought for Time Machine back up on a MacBook using APFS format and managed to partition disk for ExFAT extra file space so can work with Windows too. All looking good.

NOT fit for use as internal drive
If you're looking for a cheap replacement for your INTERNAL drive, do not buy this drive. I will sometimes buy drives like this if I'm in a pinch and need to get my hands on a replacement internal drive: remove it from the container, take the drive out, detach the adaptor, insert into new computer. However, this drive is NOT a standard SATA connection; instead, the primary controller terminates in USB only, so cannot be used as an internal drive. Further, this device cannot be opened without breaking it / breaking the tabs, meaning it's very unfriendly to those of us who want to swap out drives like this. In other words, it's not designed for durability, long-term flexibility, or anything ... might as well just buy a USB thumb drive.
