This is the third Vax that I have owned and this model is the best so far it's very easy to use and does the job , we have five dog's so it's in use every day .

Game changer for carpets
Machine is easy to assemble and to use. And it is really effective. I used it on a carpet which had been heavily soiled by tenants which was dirty, flat and hard even though it was only 2 years old and good quality. I am truly impressed by the result. The carpets are not only clean but the pile has really bounced back. I do like the wet/dry motion as it stops the carpets getting over saturated but I also did a rinse without solution as well. The machine is not too heavy even when it has a full tank. There are only two things to be aware of. If your carpets are dirty and have not been well-vaccumed like the ones in my rental property you get a lot of carpet balls. I had to stop to clean out the hood and rollers a few times otherwise the machine suction is impaired. Also make sure that all the water in the clean tank is emptied out. I left some in there overnight and when I went to use the machine no water was going into the dirty water tank as I thik the little sponge fitting between the two got oversaturated but once dried out worked perfectly again. All in all a great machine and would recommend.

Excellent carpet cleaner
I bought my VAX 3 week’s ago and couldn’t be happier with it. I found it easy to assemble/use & clean after use. My carpets came up extremely well, with better air results than expected, it certainly lifts the dirt and hair out brilliantly.

Fantastic carpet cleaner
A brilliant machine. Easy to set up and use. Have used it so far on five carpets and three rugs, Two carpets were quite bad, having been laid at least 20 years previous. All looked nearly new only after one cleaning session. I definitely recommend this machine.

Stopped Removing water
Just used for a couple of days and machine worked well for first couple of times but now won’t suck up after the wash cycle. Cleaned all the removable parts, followed the instructions in your manual regarding float but still not working correctly. Ended up trying to dry using the dry mode only. Worried that it is making my 100%wool carpet too wet.

Happy with purchase
Bought this in the January sale to help clean revive my carpets and get rid of a couple of small dog wee patches. Carpets look much better so overall pleased with my purchase. The machine is heavy when carrying upstairs. I have given it 4 stars as it doesn't dry as well as I expected. I have had to use dehumidifier to get them really dry.

This vacuum cleaner is a 2-in-1 hoover that wets the carpet and then sucks up the water to help it dry when cleaning. You can use a normal hoover after if you wish though.

Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet-Design Carpet Cleaner
It really does depend on how long you are using the machine for. On checking the manual I can see this has a tank capacity of 0.45L for the solution. It is recommended that the solution tank is filled when fitted on the machine. Unused solution can be left in the tank after use or poured back into the solution bottle.
