Bought this to replace my other vax carpet shampooer ,really pleased as it’s amazing my carpet looks like new and smells fresh ,much dryer on completion and easier to clean the machine , no undoing screws ,the staff in Argos were so helpfull and friendly too and there was money off and triple nectar points ,happy with everything

Get this one, worth the extra few quid.
Used twice now. This machine cleans amazingly and the dry only feature leaves the carpets in a near dry state. Other good feature is eaae of cleaning the machine brushes to remove pet hair etc. Only negative is its size for storage but I will live with that for such a superb machine. In full disclosure I have not used the hand attachment cleaner yet but have high confidence.

Bought this Vax Platinum Smartwash Pet-Design Carpet Cleaner and a Floor Steamer on the 20th March 2026. Just used them this week. What a great carpet cleaner. It cleaned my carpets great. They look like new. The colour is back. I used the tools and cleaned all my chairs and Sofa. The look great too. I like the Wet and Dry feature. They were dry in no time. Used the steam cleaner on my kitched floor came up a treat. Both Machines are easy to use. Good instructions. Very pleased with them. Should off bought them ages ago.

I brought this a month ago and my husband has used it twice he thinks it excellent, my old the handle broke and never replaced it. My daughter brought on we borrowed it a few time then when it came on offer I purchased one.

This vacuum cleaner is a 2-in-1 hoover that wets the carpet and then sucks up the water to help it dry when cleaning. You can use a normal hoover after if you wish though.

Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet-Design Carpet Cleaner
It really does depend on how long you are using the machine for. On checking the manual I can see this has a tank capacity of 0.45L for the solution. It is recommended that the solution tank is filled when fitted on the machine. Unused solution can be left in the tank after use or poured back into the solution bottle.
