Great lens, great price
I love this lens, it goes so well with my eos R7 and takes some great shots. Compared to some zooms lens this one is relatively light. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a lens hood / I purchased one separately.

Great Value Lens
My initial concerns about the small maximum aperture were quickly dispelled after using the lens a few times. Getting some lovely results with a little care. Very pleased, particularly considering the low price.

Best bang for buck telephoto rf lens
I brought this for my R7, being a crop sensor this lens gives me a reach of 160mm - 640mm full frame equivalent so perfect for bird photography. Even though it is a fairly slow and variable aperture, in good light this lens is sharp and clear, I couldn't ask for more. In not so perfect light my camera handles the higher ISO levels and Photoshop denoise does the rest but still a sharp clear image.

Canon RF 100-400
This is a great lens, very sharp, very good performance. IS is great, very light and easy to handhold. Excellent outdoor performance is daylight.

Great lightweight lens ,very flexible.
It's an excellent lightweight lens with a great focal length variety. Also adding a Canon RF 2x Extender has made this a joy to use, it easily covers the range of my old 150- 600mm Tamron, i am very satisfied with it.

Good lens , with a few reservations
The lens is a compromise but excellent value for money. Must be used in very good lighting conditions but I was aware of that. A bit plasticy but again that is the compromise but it is very light. The f8 is the biggest disappointment but again it's a compromise.

Amazing lens
Lens works amazing with my Canon R10. I am sorry pleased with the clear pictures I am getting of wildlife and birds in flight. Very light so not too hard to hold for long lengths of time. Well worth the money. I am still learning.

Magnificent All-Round Zoom Lens
Good evening everyone. I'm a 40 years old wildlife photographer and a Canon-only-user since 25 years. I have came a long way along with Canon since the analogue SLRs, through the DSLRs and into the Mirror-less (Canon R10). I bought the 100-400 RF lens because I needed an all-round lens to photography animals, mainly birds, large and small. When I was using DSLRs (Canon 1 series with Canon EF L Tele-Lenses) I had to carry a lot of weight literally to the shooting location in the forest or mountains for example. Also, the DSLRs were not always able to capture everything what I wanted due to the physical limitations of the DSLRs as an invention - mechanical shutter max speed, focus points only in the centre, maximum F-stop for focusing only of 8 with tele-extenders, almost impossible to handheld with those big long telephoto lenses due to their weight and size. When I switched to the mirror-less body (R10) and the RF lens (100-400) hundreds of new opportunities arose. Now I can shoot in overcast weather, in very dark conditions, shoot very fast (23 frames per second), focus at F-stop even bigger than 8, and the very best feature - Canon's Animal-Eye focus & tracking. Before, with DSLRs I had the Canon 400 L F5,6 lens - magnificent, but it had a fixed distance. If the animal approached me it was hard or impossible to focus on it. With the Canon's 100-400 RF not only can I sustain the focus on the animal wherever it stands but also track it with the eye-focus and lightning speed due to its advanced focusing mechanism. And the stabilisation is a wonder-thing in itself! Now I can shoot handheld on an overcast day in poor lightning conditions and succeed when it was impossible with the DSLR lenses due to their era-bound-limitations. I strongly recommend this versatile lens to everyone, a blockbuster-of-a-lens, because of its almost limitless capabilities and a high grade build quality. Everything in this lens I see as pros - image quality, build quality, focus speed, stabiliser, small size and low weight, zoom range enabling to shoot almost everything within sight, literally. I shot thousands of photos with it since my purchase, I haven't found any cons yet. It's the best all-round lens I ever had in my career. In fact, it is so good that, and I am so satisfied with Canon quality that I bought also a super-tele lens the Canon RF 800 F11 lens for those rare extra-long shooting cases. I love those products, they are superb. Keep it up, Canon!

Hello Mand,
From the information we have available, I can advise the Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM lens is not compatible with the Canon EOS 2000D. The RF lens mount is designed for Canon's mirrorless EOS R series cameras, while the EOS 2000D uses the EF/EF-S mount for DSLR cameras.

Hello compo,
The supplier has advised the following for the Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6 - 8 IS USM Lens:
“ This lens is compatible with the Canon EOS R7. Please note:
As the EOS R7 has an APS-C sized sensor, a crop factor applies giving an equivalent focal length of 1.6x – this means that the 100-400mm on an APS-C camera will give the field of view equivalent to a 160-640mm lens on a Full Frame camera. ”
