Really happy with this and extends the WiFi brilliantly down our long garden, 150ft + . Was initially difficult to set up and only found the internet connection at 2.4ghz and had to adjust our router settings , so maybe worth looking at other TP Link options if you want to use 5Ghz internet but this is perfect for the money. But this works great for us , tv, iPad, working from home etc

I bought this to extend the range of my wi-fi to cover the rear garden. It works well. The initial setup was a little confusing, but I found the easiest way to get the extender working was to use the WPS button method on your router.

The range isn’t brilliant, but for the price it’s not bad, and certainly better than nothing. Quick and easy to set up. Works well as a cheap extender to at least give some coverage when main router won’t reach, and seems to handle general web browsing etc without any issues.

To ensure perfect performance, it is recommended that the distance between the router and the Range Extender be limited to 8 meters, and the distance between the Range Extender and the end device be approximately 8 meters.

The supplier has advised for the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender: To improve your Wi-Fi signal, you should place the range extender between the router and your work area (on the first floor). For the best results:
1. Position the extender with an external antenna between 25 and 40 feet from the router, or between 20 and 35 feet if it has an internal antenna.
2. Try to raise the extender to about four feet high, ideally at a similar height as your main router. This helps the extender receive a better signal from the router and also delivers a stronger signal to your devices.
3. Make sure the extender’s antennas are positioned vertically (if adjustable). Avoid placing the extender sideways.
4. Avoid placing the extender near objects that could block or reflect signals, such as brick walls, mirrors, or large metal objects. Also, try to keep it away from other devices that emit radio frequencies, as these can cause interference.
