Brilliant product
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and i am very happy that i did. I bought it because our backdoor video doorbell couldn't get wifi signals because it was far from our broadband router. I put this extender on halfway as advised and our doorbell started working as normal and now we have good service in our backyard too. Strongly recommended item.

Easy basic set up
Easy to set up as basic wifi extender. More tricky if using Ethernet connection as an access point. Not impossible but instructions do not cover Ethernet use.

Great wifi signal booster/extender.
This wifi signal extender has been great. Positioning it halfway between downstairs and the loft has given us good signal now all around the house. We never had signal in the loft before, now we have. I've already recommended this product to friends and family. I'm very happy with it, also the price was very reasonable. You download an app and follow the on screen instructions, quite a straightforward setup.

The extender can connect to and extend a phone's mobile hotspot Wi-Fi. The setup process for connecting to a mobile hotspot Wi-Fi is the same as connecting to a router. However, some hotspot Wi-Fi may not be stable as phones are not specially made for sharing Wi-Fi. Moving the phone's position frequently may also influence the extender's connection.

As this device extends Wi-Fi signal, it isn't connected to the router using an ethernet cable. To connect it to your router, plug it into a mains socket near to your router, connect the device, then move the device and plug it in at the desired location.

The TL-WA850RE only supports 2.4G WiFi. If your router also supports 2.4G, and the 2.4G and 5G networks are separate, then this range extender can extend your router network.
