About this product
Banish Wi-Fi dead zones with the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender, designed to strengthen and expand your existing router's signal into areas it can't reach on its own. This compact range extender connects wirelessly to your router, delivering reliable coverage throughout your home or office at speeds up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. Setup is refreshingly straightforward thanks to WPS - just press the button on your router and the Range Extender button on the 850RE within 2 minutes, and you're connected without any complicated configuration.
The single Ethernet port adds extra versatility, letting the extender work as a wireless adapter for wired devices like Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, DVRs and Internet TVs, so you can bring wireless connectivity to equipment that doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi. It reduces signal interference to keep your connection stable and consistent, whether you're streaming video, browsing or working from home. The plug-and-play design means you can position it wherever you need coverage most, making it ideal for reaching those tricky spots where your router's signal just doesn't quite make.

Outdoor access to home wifi
Range extender now allows good wifi access in my garden and on driveway - really works well for playing music outside as the router location in my house doesnt give a good enough signal outside. WPS makes setup a dream!

Hello Shaun,
The supplier has advised for the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender: To improve your Wi-Fi signal, you should place the range extender between the router and your work area (on the first floor). For the best results:
1. Position the extender with an external antenna between 25 and 40 feet from the router, or between 20 and 35 feet if it has an internal antenna.
2. Try to raise the extender to about four feet high, ideally at a similar height as your main router. This helps the extender receive a better signal from the router and also delivers a stronger signal to your devices.
3. Make sure the extender’s antennas are positioned vertically (if adjustable). Avoid placing the extender sideways.
4. Avoid placing the extender near objects that could block or reflect signals, such as brick walls, mirrors, or large metal objects. Also, try to keep it away from other devices that emit radio frequencies, as these can cause interference.

Hi,
You can use two extenders together in a single network. To ensure optimal network quality, it is recommended to connect both extenders directly to the host router's Wi-Fi network instead of connecting one extender to another. Assign a different Wi-Fi name to the first extender so you can separate its Wi-Fi from your router's. The setup process for adding a second extender is the same as for the first one.
If both the router and the extenders support the EasyMesh feature, you can follow the instructions provided in this link: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/3582/...

Hello There.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender.
Yes, the TP-Link TL-WA850RE Range Extender can work with the TP-LINK M7010 4G LTE Mobile WiFi unit. TP-Link range extenders are broadly compatible with most standard Wi-Fi routers and access points, including both TP-Link and non-TP-Link models. As long as your M7010 is broadcasting a standard Wi-Fi signal (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax), the extender should be able to connect to it and help extend its coverage.
To set up, plug in your TL-WA850RE near the M7010, connect to its Wi-Fi network, and follow the extender’s setup instructions. If your M7010 uses an open or hidden Wi-Fi network, the extender can also connect to it. If you encounter any issues during setup, please reply to this email and our customer service team will get back to you.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi Tony,
We recommend that the distance between the range extender and the rourter should be approximately 8 to 10 meters.
By the way, this range extender can only be used indoors.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Sharon,
Thanks for getting in touch with us, the "TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender" will work with any internet provider you may have in the UK.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Tommo,
The supplier has advised the following for the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender:
"Yes, the TP-Link range extender is broadly compatible with most standard Wi-Fi routers, including those from other brands like EE. As long as your EE mini hub broadcasts a standard Wi-Fi network (using protocols such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), the TL-WA850RE should be able to connect and extend its Wi-Fi signal. Please note, compatibility issues may arise only if the router uses modified, outdated, or non-standard firmware, but this is uncommon for most consumer routers.
If your EE mini hub uses an open Wi-Fi network (no password) or a hidden Wi-Fi network, the TP-Link extender also supports connecting to these types of networks."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
TL-WA850RE does not come with the power lead. It is directly plugged into the power outlet.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Dave,
The TL-WA850RE is a 2.4GHz-only device — it does not have a 5GHz radio.
This means it will only be able to connect to and extend your router's 2.4GHz network.
If 5GHz support is important for your setup — for example, for faster speeds or less interference — you may want to consider a dual-band range extender such as the RE450 or RE330, both of which support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Thanks for using Q&A.
