We have been advised of a safety issue identified with the above Sticklebricks product sold since October 2007. It is possible that the individual “Stickles” can become detached. The individual “Stickles” are small and could be hazardous to young children. These could pose a choking hazard.

We have identified an issue with the above stair gates where the plastic hinge mounting can break in use. As a result the gate can fall from the frame. Injury may occur if this happens in use, as well as the further potential for injury once the gate has become detached and ceases to be an adequate barrier to potentially hazardous situations.
The issue only affects products purchased after 14th December 2007 with WHITE plastic hinges (shown on the right) marked with the model number on the bottom of the gate (right) LD145 or LD146

STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY and return it to your nearest Argos store for a refund.

TOY RECALL
At Argos, safety is of paramount concern and we ensure that all toys which are sold by us comply with all relevant UK and EC safety standards.
You may be aware from press and TV reports that Mattel have announced a recall of a large number of toys. The Mattel products sold by Argos include some Polly Pocket, Barbie and Tanner, Doggie Daycare, and Fisher Price (see full list below).
There are two reasons for this recall. Firstly, there have been a small but significant number of cases reported to Mattel where the magnets in the affected toys have come loose from the toy. There is a potential for the magnets to be swallowed. If more than one magnet is ingested, there is a risk that the magnets could stick together in a child’s gut. We have not received any complaints of this nature and are not aware of any children requiring surgery in the UK.
Secondly, Mattel have advised us that there may be unacceptably high levels of lead in paint in some of their toy lines.
Please look carefully at the list of products below and if you have one of the toys on the list, please ensure the toy is taken away from your child and contact Mattel for advice (see contact details below).
At this stage, we are not aware of any other Mattel or Fisher Price products sold by Argos which is affected by the recall notice. We would like to assure you that we will be carefully monitoring the position and, should further recalls be announced by Mattel, we will advise all our customers.
