Very happy with purchase,thank you.
The watch is far better than I expected, not too big ,easy to set up and adjust. This is the first solar watch I have and so far cannot find any negative comments. Thank you for an excellent value for money purchase

The Good and Bad
It's a good-looking watch and a good size for most wrists. Priced realistically. The Bad part is being charged by daylight! Seeing as it would be worn under a sleeve, I doubted the amount of charge it would actually receive and came to the conclusion it would not be adequate. For that reason, I returned it for a refund. However, I would buy it if was a quartz movement.

Nice looking watch
Hope the solar power works as claimed. It says charge to full before first use though no way of telling it is fully charged. I left it on a window ledge and outside, when possible, to get as much charge in it as possible

Looks good and is functional
I bought this to replace an identical watch purchased 25 years ago, still going but starting to look old. Major problem which is surmountable. Especially in winter months when wearing long sleeve it receives insufficient charge. Take the watch off in the evening and leave where it received house lighting.

The best of all the watches I have
It's a simple, small, and reliable little watch, which comes with eco drive tech. Don't really care what others might think, but I wear it with my tuxedos and suits at events. I'd choose this watch over most of the analogue watches that are out there.

It’s very nice indeed, but…
Been looking for AGES for a watch that either is wind-up or automatic (I don’t want to ever have to change a battery so I don’t want a quartz watch) that also has a very plain, white dial with numbers - not dots or dashes - around the face.. Can I find one? No. I came across this Citizen Eco Drive watch which is essentially solar/light powered - cool! It has the style of face I’m after, but the problem is it’s black. I wanted white, ideally as it’s easier for me to see and read. I still couldn’t find anything remotely suitable that matches my requirements so I bought this in a recent sale. It was very good value and I’m happy about that. The Eco Drive is fab, love it. You let it do its thing, so far, so good. Was disappointed that it wasn’t set up ready to use so I knocked a star off for that. I’ve not found it that easy to set by myself - the day/date has other language variations and you have to really know what to do to get it to show English in the date window so that’s been a bit of a mission. Argos no longer has a resident jeweller so I couldn’t ask for help, had to rely on online instructions which was a pain - I like a leaflet/brochure/paper manual. Sigh. That’s the modern world, I guess… but is is a great watch, just wish it had a white dial. Strap is ok, fits a small wrist which I’m happy about, obviously fits larger ones as well with the simple to use strap. Strap is ok, better than metal bracelet things anyway. Overall, I recommend it but I’ll pass it to on to my kid if I ever find one with a white dial!

On my eco drive watch it says it can last up to 6 months in the dark after a full charge
Hope this helps
I dont think the reply from Argos and or their supplier really answers the question.
No, you will absolutely not have to reset the watch in the morning with normal use, unless there is something very wrong!
I have had mine for well over a decade, and the charge of the internal battery from daytime light from normal use reaching it has had no problem in balancing out periods of darkness, including periods of several days in a drawer. I have never had to do any sort of battery-related reset!
Hello Nn,
The supplier has advised the following for the Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Analogue Green Canvas Strap Watch:
"I can confirm that our Eco-drive watches do not require re-setting in the morning if they are not exposed to light, provided they are set correctly.
Please note that our Eco-Drive watches are run by direct light. When the watch is losing time, has stopped, or if the second hand of the watch is double ticking, it is a good indication that the watch is low on charge. To perform a full back up charge, pull the crown out 2 x clicks and leave in direct light for 4 - 5 days. We would advise performing this full back-up every 8-12 months."
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Dave
All of the instructions on how to set the month and date on the Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Analogue Green Canvas Strap Watch, are just underneath the details of the product on the first PDF file, you will find all the information you need on this.
Hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello, to alter the time and date you need to pull out the knob on the right side of the watch. Turning the knob towards you alters the date. Turn away from you to set the month. Keep turning away from you to get the English month. Beware not to pull it out twice as this sets the time. One click out to set the date and month, two clicks out to change the time. This needs to be changed at the end of each month as it does not automatically change. I hope this helps.
Use the winder to pull it out 1 stop only 2 will allow change of minutes / hours. Movement 1 way changes date, movement the other changes the day. Hope this helps. Still loving my watch 2 years on.
