Choosing the right living room furniture

Plan your room

Before you decide on your furniture, have a think about how to use your space, your storage requirements and how much room you have.

Choose your material

Getting the look you want depends on choosing the right material and finish for your furniture.

  • Solid wood has a natural appearance. With knots, grains and slight variations in colour, no two pieces will look exactly the same – so you’ll get something really unique. Our Puerto Rico furniture is made from solid wood and looks great.
  • Real wood finish means the furniture has been finished with thin layers of real wood. It’ll still look and feel like solid wood, but it’ll be lighter in weight and less expensive to buy. See our Sherwood range.
  • Wood effect finish means the furniture has the look and feel of real wood, but with a more consistent colour and appearance, making it easier for you to create a totally coordinated look. Our Minsk range is a great example.
  • Metal and glass make it easy for you to create a contemporary feel that’s also durable and easy to maintain. The tempered glass in our mirrors meets British Safety Standards BS6202 regulations. See our Matrix range.

Assembly

Whilst many of our furniture items require an element of self assembly, we have new features on some of our ranges:

  • Ready assembled - look out for ranges that are delivered fully assembled, saving you time and hassle, like the Hyde range.
  • Click & quick - many of our Easy Living collection pieces simply click together without the need for tools.

Quality

We only use suppliers who meet our very high standards, and our buyers are constantly searching the world for new trends, quality materials and great craftsmanship.

Our Quality Assurance team then works with the supplier to ensure it meets our strict standards.
