Yes but not ideal. Very thin so unlikely to be very good except in an emergency. intended for gas. Will only work if the hotplate is smaller then the kettle due to the edge lip.
I. Use this kettle indoors on my gas hob. I have never had the problem you describe. It does get hot, yes, but I have never found it to be hot to handle with bare hands.

I can advise the following for the Vango Stainless Steel Whistling Camping Kettle - 2 Litre:
Due to the nature of a wood fire and it's uncontrollable nature, this is safer on a gas outdoor ring/hob since this is a more controlled environment. If the fire gets out of control then the plastic parts on this could melt and cause injury. We would recommend listening to the supplier's advice of gas hobs only when out camping.

It is not sold as suitable for induction hobs but it has a magnetic base and boils a couple of mugs of water on my induction hob in seconds. I use it on the small pan ring. The kettle base has a v groove so the hob goes mental if you try and use it on a larger ring but it does work brilliant on a small ring. I mainly use my kettle on the log burner stove and just finish the boiling process on the induction hob if need be. There probably are better induction hob kettles out there.
