HAIR REMOVAL METHODS

The best features to help you achieve beautiful, baby-soft skin.

Ladies Shavers

Shavers carefully glide across your skin, cutting the hair above the roots. Meaning it's painless (yay) but silky smoothness will only last a day or two. Remember to always shave against the direction of hair growth and try a waterproof model for sensitive skin.

Why they're great...

  • – Quick, easy and convenient
  • – Can shave any length hair
  • – Soft-touch comfort cushions
  • – Cordless options
  • – Selection of prices

Be mindful of...

  • – Only lasts 1-2 days
  • – Stubble
  • – Small risks of nicks or cuts
  • – Hair grows back thicker and darker

Ladies Trimmers

Designed for those harder-to-reach and sensitive areas. Like shavers, trimmers cut hair above the root so will only last a couple of days. But another comfortable and effective option.

Why they're great...

  • – Cordless convenience
  • – High precision
  • – Available in compact sizes
  • – Can shave any length hair
  • – Selection of prices

Be mindful of...

  • – Only lasts 1-2 days
  • – Stubble
  • – Small risks of nicks or cuts
  • – Hair grows back thicker and darker

Epilators

Does epilating hurt? It may feel a tad uncomfortable, but because epilators use electronic tweezers to pluck hairs from the root, it means hair regrowth is slower and finer. Resulting in less pain (and less hair) with each session.

Why they're great...

  • – Can catch shorter hairs
  • – Smart light precision
  • – Easy to use
  • – Different attachments, including massager
  • – SensoSmart Technology

Be mindful of...

  • – First few sessions could hurt a little
  • – An epilator's charge life
  • – Waterproof models may be more suited to sensitive skin

Waxing

Warm wax is applied to your skin with strips. Drawing the hair from the root as you pull the strips away. The initial strip may be a shock to first timers, but with each session the hairs grow back slower and finer.

Why it's great...

  • – Long lasting smoothness
  • – Reduced hair growth
  • – Hairs only need to be 0.2-0.6cm before re-waxing
  • – Low maintenance

Be mindful of...

  • – First few sessions could hurt a little
  • – Can be messy (have towels at the ready)
  • – Don't rewax any leftover hairs, simply tweeze them away

IPL - Intense Pulse Light

An intense pulse light is placed on your skin and absorbed by the melanin in your hair to damage the hair follicle. Making your hair weaker, reducing regrowth and leaving you with longer lasting results.

Why they're great...

  • – Easy to use
  • – Painless
  • – Smart skin sensors
  • – Clinically tested
  • – Safe for facial hair
  • – May seem expensive but seen as an investment piece

Be mindful of...

  • – You need to shave before use
  • – Not suitable for all skin types
  • – More successful on dark hair and light skin
  • – Light intensity may feel uncomfortable (but shouldn't hurt)

Laser

With a concentrated beam of light, laser hair removal targets the melanin in your hair. This damages the follicle and overtime, helps minimise regrowth. This will require a bit of precision and concentration. But for the first 3 months, you'll only need to do this once every 2 weeks.

Why they're great...

  • – Permanently removes hair
  • – Painless
  • – Simple process
  • – Salon treatment at home
  • – May seem expensive but seen as an investment piece

Be mindful of...

  • – You need to shave before use
  • – Larger areas take a little more time
  • – More suited to light-medium skin tones

Electrolysis

Home electrolysis differs to traditional electrolysis, as it uses heat rather than a probe to damage hair follicles. This causes hair to fall from the root and grow back slower. It's a simple and painless process but can take a little time with larger areas.

Why they're great...

  • – Low maintenance
  • – Painless
  • – Clinically tested
  • – Suitable for any skin type or colour

Be mindful of...

  • – Some models can seem expensive but it's seen as an investment
  • – At the start, you need to use it 2-3 times a week
  • – Buff your skin after, to remove any excess hair from the root

Shaving Top Tips

Some hints to help protect and maintain your lovely skin.

  • – Before you shave...exfoliate! It'll remove any dead cells and lift the hairs, making it a closer shave. It helps prevent those nasty ingrown hairs too.
  • – Make sure your skin is free of any moisturiser. You don't want your shaver to slip!
  • – Use shaving gel or cream where appropriate. Not only will you get a softer shave, it'll reduce any irritation.
  • – If you're trying a new type of hair removal, do a patch test. A simple way to check there's no reaction and that it'll work for you.
  • – Warm water helps open pores, resulting in a smoother shave. Great for sensitive skin.
  • – After shaving, use a fragrance-free moisturiser to avoid irritation.
  • – An evening shaving session will give your skin time to recover overnight.
