"It's a tricky one, I guess they want more buoyancy as they are not a confident swimmer, and this will definitely help with this, however, it does also make moving in the water more difficult, as the vest wants to keep the user as upright as possible, making swimming more difficult. If by snorkelling they want to float about looking into the water then it should be fine, but if they want to swim any distance then staying horizontal in the water will be tricky."
