Having purchased cordless dyson vacuum cleaners before, I knew what to expect. But the v11 is by far the best on the market.

heavy but powerful
its not as lightweight as i hoped it would be its good that it comes with different accessories though and the battery life is really good. i have a 3 bedroom house with stairs and it lasts for me to hoover the full house downstairs i have laminate flooring and there's a tool with soft edges so ideal then for the stairs there is another tool then upstairs at the carpet there's another one. also hoover my car easily enough with it. on my own with 2 kids and it has definitely made hoovering a quicker process. you just need to hoover over crumbs once and it scoops it all up. yes it is a tad more pricey compared to others but i would say you get what you pay for and it is worth every penny!

This is a great cordless cleaner, Dyson are by no means the cheapest but well worth the extra cost, far more power and battery life than our last Dyson cleaner, and more than enough tools, the only thing missing is a short flexible hose to help in cleaning in the car.

The main difference between the V11 models is that the Absolute version comes with the Torque Drive Motorhead. In the motorhead there is An integrated digital motor spins the brush bar up to 60 times a second. It drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to remove dirt, and carbon fibre filaments capture fine dust on hard floors. The motor will also adjust to the floor type meaning the suction will be at its optimal strength for the carpet. The V11 Animal does not come with this updated cleaner head but it will still perform great on carpets.
The V11 Absolute will come with the soft roller cleaner head which is designed for hard floors. This attachment is not available with the Animal version.
The Runtime, suction power and weight are the same with both products.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the two models is the floor tools. The absolute has a direct drive torque head, the animal has not. If you google the question you will be able to see some YouTube comparison videos.

Yes, the power button does have to be held in, Dyson say it conserves the battery life when you pause vacuuming to move something out of the way, it does not have an on and off switch.

You need to hold the button in. Some have critisised this feature, but we watched all the Dyson presentations online, and it is designed that way to conserve the battery. The battery does not run down but just stops when it needs re-charging. Again, it was designed this way. We have never had it run out of a charge while using. Holding the trigger in is no problem and not uncomfortable in any way. When you let go (to move furniture etc), the vacum stops until you pick it up and hold the trigger in again. It's an expensive machine, but very good and is much more convenient than our old corded, and heavy cleaner. All the best.

Hi there, it's Shannon at Dyson. The wall docking station that comes with our cord-free stick machines is not compulsory to use, but rather a storage option for those who want it. The chargers for the machines come as a separate component, so that you can use only this to plug directly into the body to charge it.
