This took my speed from 42mbs to 60mbs
Powerlink adaptors trump home wi-fi
I bought a pair of TP-Link powerline adaptors, in order to use the home wiring to link my computer equipment in place of wi-fi. They were incredibly easy to set up by pressing the "pair" buttons on each, and the speed is better than with home wi-fi. Recommended.
Fed up with WiFi, go wired!
Very useful if you want wired gaming at the opposite side of the house to your router. Uses electric socket as a wired network, for super fast internet. Does what it says on the box brilliantly.
Provided they are using the some power network this should be possible, however to get WiFi at the shed-end of your hypothetical network you would need a router at that end.

Yes, but you would need a router in the garage to give out a WiFi signal. Using Ethernet cable is more stable if possible.
They say the speed is lower if these devices are on separate rings on your house electricity circuit but I haven’t found any significant drop off on separate rings.

As long as it is on the same side of the same consumer unit and within 300m of cabling, this will work.

This TP-Link 600MPS Passthrough Powerline Kit will not boost your signal but can extend the range through your electrical circuit. These are likely to give faster speed than older TP extenders.
If you need to boost the signal you may want to consider these:

These do not extend your wi fi signal. One power line adapter needs to be connected to your router via an earthnet cable and mains socket and add the rest of the power line adapters through your mains socket by pairing them up which is done by holding the button on each adapter for approx 1 sec.
