The country of manufacture is China.
After speaking with our supplier, they have advised: ''No in short. The reason we and many don’t do this is that putting a plastic stopper in the crown actually dries the mechanism out and can lead to erratic time keeping.
I know that some customers believe it saves the battery, which it does. However if you stop the watch working the oil that lubricates the movement can dry and get sticky which slows the time keeping of the movement if kept for a few weeks to a month like this.
Ultimately is easier and cheaper to replace a battery long term than it is a complete movement if it dries out.''
