OS X v10.12 Sierra, OS X v10.11 El Capitan, OS X v10.10 Yosemite, 1 GB available hard disk space, Internet.

Hi Rich. Yes it does. Once you set top the printer simply go to System Preferences on your MacBook (Apple logo/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners) and add the printer.

If you do lots of scanning then you may also find it useful to visit hp.com and download HP EasyScan. You can place this on your toolbar so that scanning options can be opened with just one click. It's very easy to use.

Yes you can print photos in different sizes and you can print more than one photo on a page (depending on size). Printing photographs of varying size all on one sheet is not the norm but can be done through your computer.

The printer requires 2 ink cartridges 1 x Black and 1 x TriColour

If either run out you may not be able to print certain documents, or at all (this is controlled by the printer firmware and is out side of the users control)

Printer comes with 1 black cartridge and 1 colour cartridge I'm guessing if you want to print in black then you would have to replace black cartridge if it's empty

Possibly because it's not in straight or is there paper jammed at the end. If you cannot fix it then return printer to store.
