lots of choice
I purchase these items on Argos because there is lots of choice and items are available quickly (and I can collect myself). I also have confidence that the goods are genuine and will last for many years.
Probably the best !
Easy to set-up, no problems in use, reliable and worth the money
Good at first, then kept crashing whilst transferrling files, returned as faulty after trying all sorts of things that worked for a while. Argos were excellent with replacement and refund Bought another device, Western Digital This has worked perfectly
This a typo the speed of the spinning platter HDD will be 5400rpm.
The transfer speed will depend on other factors including the version of USB your PC or device has.
USB3 has transfers speeds of 'up to' 5gbps (gigabits per second)
USB2 has speeds of 'up to' 480mbps (megabits per second)
The real performance will depend on the system you connect it to and the hardware it uses to control the USB subsystem.
For this reason I am unable to give a definitive answer for transfer speed beyond the above details.

Yes, This drive meets the criteria for use with a PS4
The PlayStation is compatible with external USB 3 Drives over 250GB (Up to 8TB) however there are caveats to using an external drive with the PlayStation they are:
The PS4 system needs to run system software 4.50 or newer.
The external storage device needs to be USB 3.0 or later with a minimum capacity of 250 GB and a maximum of 8 TB capacity.
Only one external device can be used at a time. You will get an error message, if the same application is installed on the system storage and the external storage device.
The external storage device must be connected directly into the PS4 (not a hub).
Additionally the Drive will be formatted for exclusive use with PlayStation (not read/writable by PC's)

Yes, you will need to carry out one of 3 actions to use the Drive with macOS.
1: install the NTFS drivers for macOS and be able to use the drive (allows use between Windows and macOS)
2 Reformat the drive to ExFAT file system for use between macOS, Windows and Linux Operating systems.
3. Reformat the Drive to the macOS file system used by your mac (either APFS or macOS Extended FS) for exclusive use with macOS.
This can be carried out in the Disk Utility on macOS
