The solar fence lights do not have movement detector sensors.

The only sensor I'm aware of is the sensor which detects the quality of the light. That is, when it's dark enough, the light will display. There is no movement sensor as you would find with a security light for example.

There is a switch at the rear to turn them on but they don't actually light until it gets dark.

These have a simple operation, they are on for as long as the charge they have developed during the days lasts for.

No settings, no motion sensor, (although there's an on/off switch at the back) - they're on all the time for as long as the charge lasts.

In the summer, when the sun's out they're on for longer as they're charged by sunlight. If you replace the batteries supplied with larger capacity ones, they'll stay lit for longer.

The solar fence lights have 6 x NiMH batteries included which are rechargeable.

The internal battery provided is 600mAh (AA size), which doesn't allow enough solar energy to be absorbed to power the light for the whole night. I fitted mine with 2300mAh batteries which do the job perfectly. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the three screws at the rear of the light before you can prise it open to change the battery.

The two screws provided are 30mm long and 3mm wide with a Phillips screw head. They come with wall plugs which I found quite flimsy - you may want to use your own. The back of the solar light has two slots for each screw. The depth of each slot is 5mm and the slot itself is circular, tapering to a smaller semi circular area at the top which is designed to hang on the screw head. It would be easier if Argos could provide a picture of the rear of the light but there you go.
