Eye-catching with clean lines
I have been using the Linomatic 400 for a couple of weeks now, in conjunction with Leifheit's screw-in ground socket and it has been a revelation. My old line was ancient, rusty, stuck fast and relatively small but the 400 is modern, eye-catching with clean lines, spins in a light breeze and is huge. Installation of Leifheit's screw-in ground socket was quick and easy, taking only five minutes - providing a stable base for the dryer - and once the dryer was placed into the support it was simplicity itself to open up and use. (The screw-in ground socket is not provided as standard and has to be purchased separately but I have found it to be an excellent alternative to digging holes and mixing cement for a permanent socket). The easy to use pull-up toggle needs little effort to operate, raising the arms and lines which lock in place once fully open. The toggle and string then retract into the dryer body when released. Lowering the assembly is simply the reverse procedure by pulling the release ring, the whole assembly quickly and easily collapsing into its closed state. I still have not got over the novelty of the lines retracting into the dryer body rather than having a 'birds-nest' of lines and poles hanging down, as with my old dryer. The 400 dries clothes very effectively and quickly due to its impressive size (even though it is the smallest in the range) which means clothes can be spaced out on the lines and have more air flowing over them, as well as the fact that the dryer rotates in the wind. The retractable lines stay clean and tangle free and once collapsed the dryer can be removed from the ground socket and stored elsewhere until needed again - a real bonus if you only have a small garden. Overall I am very impressed by this product from its ease and speed of assembly (if you use the screw-in ground socket) to its simplicity of operation and storage as well as how effectively and quickly my weekly wash gets dried.
When I first saw the linomatic 400 I thought it was going to be too big but once I had got the screw in grass socket and popped the line up I was pleasantly surprised. It was so easy to open up by pulling on the cord and was big enough to do a few loads. I love how all the cables fold away inside the post. It also had great little hooks which is handy for hanging smalls on!
Clean, Neat & Tidy
The Linomatic 400 Comfort rotary dryer is a Rolls Royce compared to my old rotary line. It has an easy opening feature, just by gently pulling the red toggle the arms automatically rise up & open fully. It looks fresh & clean. The line affords plenty of space for several washes with additional loops on arm ends to hang shirts on hangers. The best feature is the easy closing of the line. By gently pulling out the green finger loop the lines smoothly retract into the arms whilst the arms retract to vertical position. A brilliant tidy solution to avoid lines becoming dirty & tangled. I love it.
Hello, thank you for your question. Our Leifheit Linomatic rotaries are not fixed into the ground and therefore can be, at any time, lifted in and out of their socket (in the ground) for when you wish to use it. When the rotary is closed, the washing lines retract into the arms, therefore remain clean - wherever it is stored. It is important to note that the Linomatic rotary comes with a plastic socket which requires concreting into the ground in your chosen location - either patio or lawn. If you wish to use a less permanent socket fixture or don't wish to concrete, then, we have available a Screw-In Lawn Ground Socket (search in Argos 607/4793), which can be wound into the grass in your chosen location. We also have rotary covers available (search Argos 621/7622). We trust this helps you. Leifheit UK Customer Support.
