Finding someone reliable to repair your item, or buying a new one, is an unexpected expense and a major hassle. But with protection from Argos Breakdown Care, provided by the UK's leading specialist warranty provider, Domestic & General, you won't have to worry - and there's no excess to pay!
Making a claim is easy and we're proud to say - over 97% of our customers' Argos Breakdown Care claims were accepted in 2020.
You'll have unlimited repairs as part of your protection, but if your item can't be fixed, we'll even replace it with a brand new one, or give you the equivalent value in Argos vouchers, so you can pick out your own replacement.
Already have household contents insurance? Your existing policy might offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. However, you may find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of your subsequent insurance premiums.

Still not quite sure if you want Argos Breakdown Care? You've got 45 days from the date you buy your item to get that extra reassurance. Just pop in to store, with your receipt and one of our friendly colleagues will be happy to help. You can buy it right-there-and-then and you'll be covered right away. Phew, that's a relief.
This insurance policy is designed to meet the demands and needs of those who wish to insure their electronic appliances and/or household goods against accidental damage and breakdown.

Your statutory rights will not be affected when you buy a policy. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years (in Scotland it's up to five years after you became aware, or could with reasonable diligence have become aware there was a problem) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you. After the first six months, you will have to prove that the goods had a fault when sold to you. For further information about your statutory rights contact the Citizens Advice Bureau: 03444 111 444. Policies may be available from other providers. You may also be covered under your household contents insurance or other policies that you may hold.
You can buy a policy up to 45 days after buying your product. Any terms or offers, such as discounts and vouchers that are linked to the purchase of the policy will also remain available for 45 days from the date you purchase your product. The policy commences on the date it is purchased. Your policy will end after the duration specified on your receipt (unless ended in accordance with our terms and conditions). If we give you a replacement or vouchers for a replacement the policy will end immediately and no premium will be refunded. Your policy can be cancelled at any time. You will receive a full refund if you cancel within the 45 day cooling off period. After these 45 days, if you cancel your policy we will refund the premium paid for the remaining full months of your policy.
Domestic & General Insurance PLC is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. If we cannot meet our obligations to you under the policy, compensation may be available to cover these obligations. The compensation provides for 90% of any claim with no upper limit on the amount of the claim.
